Arsenal transfers 25/26

Could very well still get signings after the season has started but yeah its not ideal is it?

Trippier? Yes. For £34m? No.

You might as well prepare yourself for that reality, even if we signed some players tomorrow they aren’t featuring until a few games into the season.

If we can get him for a similar amount we can sell Bellerin for then I’m up for it.

There’s probably a better signing to be had for less money and younger somewhere out there, but these guys aren’t going to find it so if this is the only way we’re likely to get a competent fullback for this season then it’ll do.

Arsenal’s targeting of English players is starting to make a bit more sense.

Nah because by that stage we have 1 point from 9 and then it’s a few more games before we throw them into the starting lineup.

You would have hoped if that were the case we’d fire Xhaka and Lacazette to the moon to allow promising homegrown Azeez and Balogun.

I think more likely is that these bods are morons, as usual

Infuriating that Arsenal can’t seem to learn the value of doing business PRIOR to the season so that you increase your chances of not dropping crucial points right out of the gate.

Who the fuck are all these no names that keep getting chucked around and their clubs want £50m for them 🤦

If my job was on the line I act different in the market.

Is Arteta/Edu feeling the heat from senior management? I’m not so sure

They are comfortable. Only if there is a similar run of games like the fall/early winter of last season will Arteta be sacked.

Of course, there isn’t a plan if Arteta needs to go.

The internal structure of the club is quite poor and needs a major overhaul.

But the worrying thing is that the people doing the overhaul are Edu, Vinai and Arteta.

Not sure what Vinai does and Edu has been quite underwhelming thus far.

Maybe Edu will be really good one day (just like Arteta could be), but neither should be learning on the job at a club like Arsenal.

You wouldn’t even of known about the catastrophic failure of last season unless you looked it up.

I think they got it cosy.

If you squint at it, there could be a plan. Get young and dynamic people in key positions to propel the club forward.

It’s what the Kroenke’s did with some of their other clubs.

But they also, famously, kept Jeff ā€œ7-9ā€ Fisher for far too long as the Rams’ coach.

With Garlick coming in, maybe we’re onto something?

Hmmm £50m is a lot of money for a guy who has only had one good season.

Having said that, he is really good and still only 21 so at the moment his ceiling is high. He is strong at possession football and link up play. Also scores some sexy goals, so I wouldn’t say no.

Didn’t he score like 10 goals in one half during a preseason game recently?

I like the go young approach. Also, an easier sell for fans as you can get behind younger players growing together.

However, the inability to ship out some of the older players on bigger salaries is hindering this, not too mention giving shitters like Xhaka such an important role.

Does Arteta have the backing to go young and take the lumps with the idea of coming good in 2-3 seasons?
