Arsenal transfers 25/26

Sources at the club continue to plead for patience from the fans, arguing "judge us at the end of the window.“

We most certainly will.
I just hope after predictable underwhelming window closes, those who promised so much and failed will resign.

If Bernardo has communicated that he wants to leave, then Arsenal have little to no chance of getting him.

Atletico bound.

We seem to be in a decent situation right now where even though we’re at our lowest point in a long time lots of better teams than us are somewhat fucked.

Under normal circumstances I might say someone like this would end up somewhere better but you never know if his options are limited :crossed_fingers:

Do they have the money to get him though?
They’ve just got De Paul. It all depends on Saul being sold. And from what I gathered so far Atleti are looking for a forward. Probably more likely they go for Gabriel Jesus if they have the money.

We’ve got shit loads of options for AM even this late in the window, which says a lot about this window in general.

Maddison, who wants to come and would cost 60-70m
Odegaard, who wants to come and would cost 40-50m
Aouar, who didn’t want to come but he seems to have changed mind now and would cost 20-30m
And now, Bernardo could be another one option if like Aouar doesn’t find suitors of his choosing.

Signing an AM is a must now, Edu and Teta need to make sure we don’t end up with the same shit as last summer.

Maddison or Bernado would be the best choice, although I would prefer Maddison.
Odegaard would not be much more than adequate.
Aouar is just underwhelming and he might have changed his mind but all that means is his preferred option doesn’t want him, so why would we.

We need a game changer in midfield and Maddison is the sort of player we’ve been lacking.
He might not be elite but he, and Bernado, are better than what we have.

I want Odegaard with the caveat that we have enough money to sign a RB and/or ST.

I’d go for that if it meant we buy Martinez and get rid of Bellerin and Lacazette as well.

At this point I’d be satisfied with even one substantial creative attacking signing.

I would much rather sign a cheaper AM option, let Lacazette leave for free (I’m sure some club like Atleti would pay his wages if that is all he costs), and get Lautaro than sign Bernardo or Maddison for 60-70m and then have no money for anything else.

We need somebody at AM but IMO Lautaro is the best player we could possibly sign if you think about the combination of quality, age, and positional need.

It doesn’t feel like an attacking spine of Bernardo or Maddison playing behind Laca or Auba leads us anywhere except 5th-7th this year or in the future. A team with Odegaard or ESR playing behind Lautaro isn’t much worse in the present and actually has a future.

I also think there is a real argument for signing an AM who has quality but isn’t such a massive signing that there is going to be pressure to make that guy one of the first names on the team sheet every single week. Because if you pencil that guy in at 10 every single week, it means ESR, Martinelli, Saka, and Pepe are splitting only two positions in a season without European football and those are players who need to get minutes in order to keep developing.

Exactly this. We should be going all out to put together as attractive a proposal as we can to him. Whack in a release clause that becomes active in two years if we’re still in the fucking toilet, whatever it takes, fuck it.

Boo, already hearing fans say that Silva isn’t happy in England and that’s playing for Man City winning everything under the domestic sun. He’ll be full on suicidal playing for us shitters.

I’d be keen for Silva to be honest. Him and Partey could be very interesting together, as I feel like he can play further back if needed as well.

People are also saying, once again probably just fan based speculative bullshit, that he favours the right wing even though he’s been ask to play most central for City last season. I suppose that’s to do with Mahrez’s supremacy. The one position we’re actually ok in.

Not that I wouldn’t enjoy him central but if he’s not 100 percent on board you know how this transfer would end mentally.

Turns 27 in a few days. Another guy who wouldnt want to be here but would see us as an easy place to relax and cash 250k per week. Make a ton of money then leave on a free at 30.
