Arsenal transfers 25/26

Football twitter is cringe as fuck.

They always have a stupid name like PepeSZN or something aswell.

That guy needs to stop obsessing over transfers of a football club lol

Until this happens, no top quality player is going to be attracted too us.
It doesn’t matter how many players Arteta’s PR team dredge up to tell everyone what a genius he is, top players from other clubs can see clearly what is going on here.

Anyone who thinks that more than a fraction of what needs to happen in this window is deluded.

Because all the top players wanted to sign for us under Wenger or Emery…

I think us finishing 8th consecutively isn’t helping matters.

5th season it’s going to be without CL and we went out in a whimper in the Europa. The Club is at Liverpool territory relying on the past which the glory days is getting very distant from the present. Any decent player seems to cost us a fortune. This is getting harder and harder to fix.

It was marginally better under Wenger because he still had some pull and we were playing CL football but when he left we became even less attractive and consecutive mid table finishes have made us even less attractive.

So with a poor manager, a board that seem to stumble from one poor season to another, with a team lacking top quality players, we are going to struggle to buy what we need to get out of this mess.

Getting rid of Arteta and Edu and getting a top manager like Conte would be better than getting any of Ramsdale, White, Lokonga etc, in this window.

Mid table mediocrity… Welcome to our place.

You’re talking about incomings but we have so many unwanted players at the club.

Leno: Arteta does not like him but lack of buyers made the chance to leave close to zero.
Runarsson: out on loan in the next days.

Bellerin: Inter want a loan plus option to buy, Arsenal a permanent sale. We know how will end.
Kolasinac: lack of buyers because of wage demands. 100k p/w paid by our club.
Cedric: third choice as right back, surpassed by Chambers after ten games on the bench during the final part of the last season.

Xhaka: wants to leave, Roma know that and will try to sign for a less than what Arsenal demand.
Torreira: same as Kolasinac. Wasted latest two years because unused. His market value went from £40m from £15/10m. Another loan with wage shared is a possibility. £75k p/w.
Willock: the only one who can help Arsenal to collect funds.
Maitland-Niles: hope he can be sold for a good fee but I haven’t heard a single reliable rumor.

Willian: no comment.
Nelson: on loan, nothing more.
Lacazette: will leave as free agent next year.
Nketiah: £20m are fake rumors from ITK accounts. Has club interested but only on loan.

Spot on there mate, the longer this rot continues the more difficult it becomes to fix as we’re seeing.
We used to be amongst it for the top players now we pick the bones of what’s left because of the situation we find ourselves in.

It’s very difficult to swallow and I’d love to know how everyone else knows what we need as a club aside from the people who are running the club, it’s incredibly frustrating.

I still think you can say the pinnacle of our shitness in the market was the summer of 90 mill on Xhaka, Mustafi and Perez, so not sure we’ve gotten worse as you say.

I think you are half right…I think Summer 2015 was equally bad where we only signed Cech and no outfield players. Then we had the train wreck in 2016 with Xhaka, Mustafi and Perez. IMO those two windows are the primary reason we have declined as a club over the last few years. We had a real opportunity in 2015 to build on the previous two windows when we signed Ozil and Alexis.

We need to sell Xhaka so we can move forward.

Selling Xhaka is a great start…But all the while Arteta is still in charge, nothing will change…
We will remain a mid-table club…with a VERY mid table manager.

I remain firm in my view that Arteta and Arsenal are going to have a good season this year. He is a good manager and a good coach and people are going to see that this season. I’m looking forward to you all being Arteta fans come the end of the season!

And…good for you…Just let me know which hospital and ward to send the flowers too…

Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I will be…

He’s a DREADFUL manager, a DREADFUL coach, and the only time I will be an Arteta fan, is when some other pathetic club has given him a job… :relaxed:

Whether you like it or not the club are backing Arteta 100%. I would argue he has achieved alot in a short space of time. Defensively we are a lot more solid and we have found a good formation that suits the players we have. Arteta is not responsible for some of the complete bottle jobs that are in the squad and it is going to take time before the squad overhaul has been completed. This summer is going to be a big step forward.

I look forward to revisiting this conversation at the end of the season…

Listen, I honestly hope I am wrong…But…He is an awful manager, shit decision to hire him, and he will NOT be here at the end of the season, as hopefully, he will be sacked the minute things begin to go pear shaped…Which, under Arteta, could be very very soon…
As you say, we will continue this conversation during the season…Enjoy…xx

Willian on a free?
Cedric on a 8 year contract?
Runnarson on any sort of contract?
Torpedoing the Xhaka move.
Torpedoing the AMN move.
Kidnapping Nelson and hiding him in a CIA Rendition site and destroying his transfer value.
New deal for Holding?
Jettisoning Saliba without even having him in preseason for look?

Arteta has shaped this squad and, so far, it’s been a real mixed bag.

So, as the squad currently stands we’re basically counting on ESR to make the jump from good young player to legit quality #10 on a weekly basis and main creative force for a team that can get top 4 (BIG jump). And then Lokonga adapting right away and being a starter level CM from the get go coming in from Belgium @ 21.

We must get moving on CM and #10, fast.

Hopefully a RB also.

Ok let’s take these in turn…

Willian - Underwhelming signing and hasn’t worked out. Fully accept that however at the time, he had a decent season at Chelsea, was an experienced PL player with a good goal and assist record, and was available on a free when our transfer budget was restricted due to Covid.

Cedric - Personally I think he was a decent signing as a backup RB. Remember we had to make a decision on Cedric and Mari during the season when it was unclear whether we would have European football, so it made sense at the time to confirm the deals and to strengthen in these positions. I’m also not sure he is on a 8 year contract either.

Runnarson - Hasn’t worked, but he cost Ā£1m or something? We will get rid of him this summer so no major loss.

Xhaka - Made sense last summer. I want shot of Xhaka as much as any Arsenal fan, but last season we had to strengthen our midfield (which we did with Partey). Selling Xhaka last season would have been too early, unless we had managed to sign Aouar, but that wasn’t possible.

AMN - Again made sense at the time to try to hang onto the player given his performances. In hindsight we should have sold him and held onto Emi, but we had to raise funds and that was the decision at the time. We will sell AMN this summer. We may not be able to get as much for him, but we will get a decent fee and will have to move on.

Nelson - Arteta and Edu tried to convince Nelson to go out on loan, but Nelson wanted to stay and fight for his place. Do you really think he was first in line in front of Saka and Pepe for a starting position?

Holding - New deal makes sense, maintains his value and he is a good squad player for us. I think Holding has had a decent couple of seasons under Arteta and is one to hold onto IMO.

Saliba - Personally I would have liked him to be given a chance this season, however I am pleased we are signing Ben White and maybe Arteta and Edu just thought it would be better for the player to get full game time at another club. All the credible reports say he is still part of our long term plans.

The biggest mistake that has been made by Arteta and Edu was to let Emi leave for Villa. We should have held onto him and said he would be given chance as No.1 but would have to compete with Leno for the No.1 spot throughout the season.
