Lots of rumors thereâs going to be a big recycling of our squad this summer. A few transfers already done and hopefully a few more to come. Not totally convinced with Arteta yet. Hope he proves me wrong. Gonna be a very interesting season for us, this.

Tavares and Lokonga both seem like deals where we are taking advantage of the financial situation of European clubs. Locatelli too (it wonât happen but at least we seem to be trying).

I donât think Lokonga is a steal but it feels like a pretty good Covid market fee to me, slightly less than what Sheffield United paid for Sander Berge, which is probably the most comparable transfer. Tavares definitely seems like a good fee.
Iâm not disagreeing that Arsenal have been poor where theyâve spent money over the last few seasons. Iâm disputing the aggressive part post Wenger that you posted.
They have been aggressive spending money on transfers; theyâve just have done it poorly.

Honestly, I think the reason our transfers suck is because no quality player would be interested in playing for Arteta/Arsenal ( mostly Arteta ) right now except for massive wages at the end of their careers.
Actions have consequences⌠unfortunately for us.
Just changing the manager to a known quantity with international pedigree (say Conte) would have made a massive difference in our transfer dealings.
I would be suspicious if a top player signed for us right now⌠Iâd be looking for the âcatchâ.
Arteta should have been fired as soon as he bottled the EL. He is below mediocre and we will continue to wallow in mediocrity until we get rid.
