Arsenal transfers 25/26

The Xhaka sale should free up a spot at least.

Ramsdale is practically the HG version of RĂşnarsson

He’s a walking calamity FFS

• Deal for Ben White should be close - Garlick worked with Brighton’s technical director Dan Ashworth at West Brom. Arsenal angling to pay the fee in installments. White’s arrival will likely mean Saliba going on loan.
• Arsenal “edging closer to an agreement” for Lokonga. Does not rule out additional midfield signings, especially if Xhaka leaves. Neves still in the mix, and the club inquired about Locatelli, but he is more likely to go to Juve.
• No significant developments regarding Bellerin. RB signing unlikely prior to him and/or AMN departing. Interest in Tyler Adams but a deal will be difficult this summer.
• Arsenal has been monitoring Mert Muldur for a year, who is appealing as he is an RB who can also cover for Tierney. Miguel Gutierrez of Real is also under consideration at LB.
• Talks ongoing over Aaron Ramsdale. Homegrown status is a factor. Arsenal considering what to do about Onana, as CAS did not reduce his ban as much as the club had hoped. Onana may stay at Ajax for the last year of his contract and leave on a free, which would draw interest from elsewhere.
• Odegaard unlikely as he does not look inclined to push for an exit. Maddison probably too expensive.
• Club wants to raise funds from offloading Xhaka, Guendozi, and Torreira but have not received acceptable offers for any. Management will meet with Willock after holidays to discuss his future. Open to selling Willock if the right offer comes in - no formal bid from Newcastle yet.

Taken from the crapletic.

Not gonna lie, that has to be one of worst updates we’ve got.

I can understand the RB situation. No point going for one when what we’ve got is arguably better.
As suspected though, we’re dropping our interest in Onana because his ban wasn’t reduced enough. We’re targeting bloody Ramsdale.
Odegaard and Maddison unlikely? Nice going with the Buendia deal then. :man_shrugging::man_facepalming:
Locatelli also unlikely, we’re going for Neves who somehow looks past it at age 24.

Fucking hell, Everton probably got a more ambitious plan… :joy:

So the club are genuinely targeting a man who was far and away the worst goalkeeper in the league last season? Fuck me

Doesn’t sound at all like we’ve got a crap ton of money to spend.

So it’s spend the bulk of the money on White and get mugged off for the deadwood they’re trying to offload thereby settling for some disappointing options when it all goes to shit.

Sounds about right

It’s worth noting that the update actually briefly says there are indications that there is money to be spent which is very conflicting.
I’m seeking solace in that this is the club acting poor through their favourite outlet like they usually do.

Sounds like we’ll be exchanging deadwood for deadwood :joy:

Yeah with this club you never know what the fuck is going on guess we will have to wait until the Euros are over, and until the end of window. Kind of annoying as it is pretty clear to everybody where we are lacking and who we need to move on.

Lokonga and White are dragging on a bit but it seems like they’re going to get completed.

What we do at RB, CM (as in the second one we need) and CAM is still up in the air.

The GK links are confusing me. Doesn’t make any sense unless Leno is going. There’s no sense in spending £15-20m on Ramsdale when you can pick up Onana for less than half of that. Either way, they’d both be coming here to be #1 and that boggles my mind when we have other pressing issues to deal with.

Onana is an absolute bargain, we could get him for dirt cheap now, play Leno for the majority of the season and have a ready made no 1 in Onana to fill his spot if we decide we want to move him on next season. Seeing as we don’t need a number 1 urgently I don’t see why his ban is an issue for us.

An absolute shit show if we don’t get one of them and let Buendia get away. Aouar would be the only acceptable signing if we don’t get one of those and he’s worse than Buendia so we fucked up

Currently it looks like our plans are to be worse than the second half of last season. Which is infuriating.

Arteta is also fucking up by not spending the Ben White money on Maddison.

Yup.

Zero improvement in attack. Possibly a backup GK who is not good enough (again). A CB who plays in a 3 which means we might be going back to a 3-5-2 so we’ll get the privilege of Rob Holding playing every week with Ben White. And it wouldn’t shock me after reading this update that Xhaka stays because the club can’t do a deal to get another midfielder in. It’s really not good.

Arsenal just reminded us they are clowns still

You hate to read it

True, but we all knew it was coming. At least they haven’t gone with the “tournament summers make it hard to do deals” excuse.

The problem is we only want English players so we’re going to have to wait until the final on 11th of July and then until after the trophy parades on the 14th-16th July before we can even start getting deals done.

Why would English players be delayed by a Danish trophy parade?

Strong NO to Tavares from me when Benfica fans on Reddit are this happy to ship him off :joy:

This is just a summary of everything we have been reading for the past couple of weeks…

@Cristo we’re signing a back up for Tierney. Obviously that needs to be someone who is at least reliable fitness wise, since Tierney is not that at all, but I don’t expect to get a world beater. At least a young player still has the promise of development. If that actually happens in a good way is a different question.
