Arsenal transfers 25/26

See our standards are that low we’re accepting of that, but the reality is we need to nail BOTH CAM and CM.

Maddison and Renato Sanches would do the trick.

It’s bad transfer strategy if you’re willing to sink big money into EL level talents in the hopes of competing now and in the future.

People forget Partey is a top level CL player, you don’t need a world class double pivot IF you address other more pressing areas.

I never said anything about EL talents, I just said we need 2 quality players in those positions.

The manager might—can’t imagine he’s retained if Arsenal finish so low on the table again.

I can only go off the names we’ve been linked to, I’d rather roll with current options than Berge or Neves for £35m+

Yeah I’d probably rather still spend the money, as long we sign upgrades at all the positions needed as ultimately it isn’t my money.

Fair, but personally I think there are available #6/#8s in the market that are genuine upgrades for us.
It’s worth noting that Neves and Berge are names on the list. Same for Bissouma. It’s been reported we have other players ahead of them, and one of them is Locatelli.

What a tap in from Fab.

I know nothing about the player but he’s a better punt than Bertrand on a free.

He’s young, fee isn’t crazy and I assume he has some scope to improve whilst on a modest contract. That’s the type of business we should be exploring

Don’t know anything but a promising profile. Can get behind this. Bertrand was a big no no.

Southampton’s likely replacement, Perraud, is a highly rated offensive FB too

Also means we’d pass on PvA which was also a huge red flag for me.

I agree.
I would rather stick with what we have rather than get new players that are not considerably better than what we have.

In recent transfer windows we have seen money wasted on a lot of players that are different rather than better especially in the midfield and defensive positions.

So, if we get a decent attacking midfielder like Maddison, that’s fine but to spend 40m on a player that is no better than what we have, would be a waste.

It would also mean that Arteta’s replacement will have more money to work with.

Do we have an issue with the homegrown quota right now?

I suppose if a selection of Nelson / Willock / Nketiah / Bellerin / AMN / Chambers are sold then that probably shafts us a bit. A lot actually.

Ramsdale, Maddison, White - it sort of makes sense from that angle.

Bad news is that it makes Rob Holding even more indispensable to us
