Arsenal transfers 25/26

Aarons at RB, Digne at LB. On paper that’s a real strong full back pairing.

Shame we can’t get a proper RB

@SRCJJ : Is it? Don’t get the hype with Aarons, he looked incredibly ordinary in the PL.

Lamptey >>>

Aarons has been a known quantity since 2018. Late to the Party now with a load of other teams interested

I don’t really get the Aarons hype either. As far as I can tell, the trajectory went like this:

Plays well in the Championship in 18-19 as a very young player, attracts some hype, but no deal materializes and Norwich is promoted so they are not eager to sell. Plays fairly poorly in the Premiership in 19-20, hype level goes down quite a bit, rumors about him last summer but nobody biting. No real idea how he has played this year. Statistically his final third contribution does not stand out (1 goal, 0 assists).

Maybe many clubs are still very interested but I could also see him being the kind of guy that has attracted enough hype in the past that any English club looking for a RB will now automatically get linked with Aarons whether or not there is genuine interest at all.

Unbelieveable what having a decent manager can do for a club…Maybe soon, we will find out for ourselves???

Agreed.

He had some hype but so far has failed to live up to it, even setting aside the numbers he didn’t pass the eye test for me when he played in the PL and like you said doesn’t seem like he’s lighting it up in the Championship either and that’s strange considering they are flying at the minute.

Not sure what he’s done to warrant a club dropping a substantial fee on him.

I’m not a huge fan bro. I’m yet to see what the hype is about but, on paper, it looks strong given the hype behind him and the obvious clamour for his signature from bigger clubs.

Godfrey Aaron’s Buendia Cantwell all showed off their talent in the PL.

With the right coaching Aaron’s can definitely push on, he’s got the right attributes for it 100%

Who would you go for ideally?

I have no idea.

I’d just say Lamptey/Aarons seeing as I don’t follow European Football :joy:

Dont you have another right footed Tierney elite whipped cream kinda fullback we can get in for peanuts. Would love two Tierneys on both flanks.

I wonder what positions the club will be focusing on this summer?

CM, AM, RB and an ST?

Mid table again

RB

It won’t matter if we go for any of those, if we keep the same bloke in charge, then we will still struggle…

What’s the plan for LW going into next season? ESR?

Aarons did? I must’ve been seeing some other team in yellow and green.
I thought he looked ok offensively and bad defensively. Jamal Lewis on the other side shined more.

Don’t think Pepe gets sold so him along with Gabi/ESR by the looks of it.

Every position is ideally up for improvement, however we have to be reasonable.

Not sure Mikel trusts Gabi as an out-and-out striker just yet so we might see a mid-twenties striker bought into the side, with Laca moving.

Difficult to know what our money situation is though. I wonder how much we can even do in the market. I’m all for more of a clear out before buying though and promoting some youngsters to keep to mill turning over nicely.

I forgot to add Lewis who also looked like he would look good under a good manager
