Arsenal transfers 25/26

We’ve had a 26 month sample size of him in the Prem, whatever he was at Napoli is pretty much irrelevant.

I assume Jorginho would be a replacement for Torreira and he is from Brazil, which seems to fit the profile of players we’re after.
But we need strengthening in more attacking midfield positions and, considering how long we have had to wait, it looks as if it’s Aouar or nothing.
Do we have a plan B or are we not going to bother if we don’t get him.

Wouldn’t want him but I know Pep and Arteta both had hards on for him before he ended up at Chelsea so I guess they all see something in him.

But if this was based solely on his Napoli days it’s a no brainer. But Chelsea have a much better midfield with more mobility than us (Kante, Kovacic to be specific) and they don’t always get the best out of him so who knows.

Maybe with the protection of 3 at the back will cover for Jorginho and Xhaka’s lack of pace

I think Jorginho would be a decent signing for us, especially with Torreira going but are Chelsea going to sell to us, knowing how weak our midfield already is.

I don’t think Abramovich needs the money, although he has just spent 200m on new players, and he certainly won’t want to strengthen one of their main rivals.

Would rather not go down the road of loaning another CM. We’re already in that boat with Ceballos and while I think he’s great for our midfield, I really want to see us signing one, hopefully two CM’s, on permanent transfers. Having two midfielders on loan, potentially building on something that might not even be a thing next season, doesn’t seem like smart team building to me.

We’ve invested smartly in defence, it only makes sense that we follow the same protocols when it comes to the midfield.

With Torriera leaving, we must have a replacement lined up. Arsenal wouldn’t let him go otherwise.

Maitland-Niles.

A good replacement*

Has the window “slammed shut” yet? The silliness needs to end.

Looks like we are definitely siging a CM.

Partey looks dead as we don’t want to pay his release clause.

Looks like Aouar or Jorginho as back up it is.

If signing fucking Jorginho is all we do to address our problems in midfield I’m going to have an absolute fit

If anything it will be Aouar and Partey/Jorginho.
Jorginho to challenge Xhaka.
Aouar is Arteta’s boy, they’re getting him.
It’s happening, calma.

We’re not going to sign a player who can compete with Xhaka. Arteta said something like ‘he’s a leader, it’s unquestionable’ in his press conference. I highly doubt he’s looking to replace a player if he speaks that highly of him.

I think loaning Jorginho is now most likely, with an outside chance of signing Aouar. Partey no chance at all.

Outgoing transfers or lack off, have really fucked us.

Guess we’ll get to enjoy Jorginho’s dance penalties.

Yeah I don’t think Xhaka getting moved in any scenario. If it’s a two he will play if it’s a 3 he will still play.

The issue is that without Xhaka we’re fucked. He’s essential for Arteta. Jorginho offers another option for Mikel.
Dunno why Jorginho would join to be a cover though.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the idea is for a Xhaka-Jorginho pivot with Aouar further forward. Not that fond of it though.

Who else could we sign though? Effectively we only play 2 midfielders, so can’t see us stocking up on many tbh.

He’d be playing alongside Xhaka. The slowest midfield in the PL but with DLPs
