Arsenal transfers 25/26

I think it was also because Arsenal were still exposed in possession in that 4-3-3 (which became 2-3-5 in possession). Since he plays with 3 at the back I feel like Arsenal really is less vulnerable. Arteta needs to figure the offence out.

Tbh with 6 weeks remaining in the window, I think your being a tad harsh. Yes this club has stagnated over the last decade or so. Yes we are usually shit in the market. Yes as fans we have lowered our expectations. This has been the case for very long. If anything we are now in the process of changing this.

Not many top players have been signed yet, however how many teams have actually purchased anybody of substance except Chelsea? Genuine question.

When asked about top 4, Arteta said will see how our team looks at the end of the window. To me that is someone who is not done yet. If he was, we would have heard the some old BS we have heard for so long. I think overtime arsenal fans have been conditioned into a natural state of negativity. We see it with every transfer, every contract situation, any potential signing. “We can’t afford him, why would he stay, why would he come here” etc.

First we cry and say it is pivotal we keep auba and he Wil be the best signing we can make this window. Then when the club sorts it out, it’s the narrative that we have fallen so low we celebrate our best player staying. Isn’t that an improvement on Fabregas, rvp, Sanchez? At the very least let’s give then until the end of the window. Arteta could have easily said, due to Covid etc movement is unlikely and shouldn’t be expected, to lower expectations etc. But he hasn’t. He has put it out there which is all he can do. Let’s give them a chance.

Don’t think we can financially compete with Juve.

Well, that’s a sobering thought because they’re broke AF

That plausible for Arsenal if we can shift couple of bodies.

Is worth that that much though?

I agree with most of what you say but we aren’t even celebrating our best player signing a new contract because we’re still waiting.

The difference is, Fabregas, RvP, Sanchez all left in their prime, when they still have 4-5 years of world class football in their tanks. Auba is a lot less attractive as an asset for other clubs for this reason.

Yh I agree, that’s a reason why he is more inclined to stay. But with that same sentiment, are you not happy he is staying?
Fabregas we all knew it was a matter of time and Barca were the only club he said he would leave is for. Rvp one good year, then out the door at United, and we all know what happened to Sanchez. I know it’s retrospect but you get my point. If auba left we would have said same old arsenal. Atleast he’s not another one who got away.

Aouar for 60m doesn’t make sense. 40-50m max.
No sane club will pay more than that for him this window.

I hope Juventus sign him.

The club’s been admiring and liking a lot of players lately, lots of love and no cash.

Juventus need to start selling players. They’re basically Barcelona in waiting imo. They built this whole project around Ronaldo and supplemented it with some disastrous signings (i.e.: Rabiot, Ramsey, Higuain still taking up space). They just appointed a novice coach who, let’s be serious, isn’t going to be able to tell that locker room a goddamn thing. I can’t wait for it to implode.

Juventus are broke and really they can’t compete with us financially, or any other PL club.

I wonder if they’ll offer up Rugani and whatever other scrubs they have for Houssem? Fucking comical.

They’ve waited 16 years to say this again :joy:

Oi. Don’t bully Leeds. Billy deserves better.

I’ve truly never heard of him until now

Given we’ve been linked with both, who would you prefer paying 60m for?
Aouar or Grealish?
