Installments FC?

Yep. Aouar bossed that match, no wonder Lyon raised their asking price for him.
Wish we had an uncle Roman or Mansour too that would say fuck it and bring both Partey and Aouar in.
Scrap Ceballos at this point. Partey-Xhaka-Aouar? That’s top 4 and EL in the bag.

Auba should be our first priority…then Partey…the next player we sign needs to be a defensive player. With Willian we have strengthened attack, so defence next please!

Midfield is #1 priority for me. Even with the injuries we had at the back we managed to get through it.

Most teams in Europe have a shambles at defence anyway. City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Leicester (very questionable in 2020 so far), Barca, Madrid, Napoli, Milan, Roma, etc.
Can’t remember the last time so many top sides had such a mess at the back. Some of the teams I mentioned won stuff as well, which completely debuffs the great old argument that defence wins you trophies.

I said it in another thread, if they can’t land their #2 defensive target(Gabriel, #1 was Upa) then they might as well call it a day. No reason going big for the alternative of the alternatives. That’s what got us into the mess we created.

Tbf, in this case Lyon are broke. For example, they bought Bruno Guimaraes in January and now they don’t even have money to pay the installments of his transfer. Don’t think they have much choice but to insist on cash. Once Lyon are out of UCL it’s gonna be an open market I presume.

Seriously?

Yeah.
I saw a report around the time we went into lockdown analyzing this, mentioning some names like Bruno and Jeff.

Aulas also hinted at that.

I don’t know anything about Lyon in particular but any club without a wealthy owner and/or big tv and commercial revenue has got to be in trouble. My guess is that Ligue 1 teams are pretty dependent on match day revenue and are therefore fucked without fans in stadiums.

You think Jeff would want a move back here? We do need a midfielder.

He would beg for that. Seems like he has kept connections here, I always see him liking and commenting on Arsenal related posts.

Although, I don’t think the club will go for him at this point. I do think that the club wants to invest on young players but they have to be readymade to balance it out with our youth.

Should be going all in here.

They obviously moved for him after I mentioned him here. :kroenke:

60M euros is actually a very very reasonable price for that type of player. I’m actually a bit surprised how low it is. If he has any true quality we shouldn’t think twice about this. A player of this profile is absolutely essential atm.

Btw if we think he’s not worth 60M there’s absolutely no point even sniffing around him. He’s not a 17 year old talent you gamble on, if we have done a proper scouting on him we should have a pretty clear picture about him and his value, he’s been there for long enough.
If we’re ready to pay something like 40M for him and he turns out mediocre it’s still waisted money. Not just money, time too. You’re waisting at least a season on a player who should be a key midfieler. 20M up or down really doesn’t make much difference.

Partey - XHAKA - Aouar? :gabriel: :laca2: :torreira:

Get Xhaka out of that beautiful midfield! Since both Partey and Aouar can progress the ball and pass it, Xhaka would add absolutely nothing to them. At lest Torreira would added some actual defensive quality, mobility etc.
Hell I’d rather have AMN there in stead of Xhaka.

The shock outgoing? Ozil possibly a mutual termination. For all the talk of him staying until the end of his contract, he must know that he’ll get better wages as a free agent now rather than after another underwhelming season. Arsenal would love to sell him but can save Ā£15m on wages. Also, in pre 2nd-wave terms and its likely effect on the economies across Europe, it’s a good time to get settled in somewhere and under a long-term contract.

Probably the dumbest moment to make an offer. What was Edu thinking lol.

You taking this one as fact?

Oh no L’Equipe. Nvm.

Haha, fair play. Also, wasn’t saying that to call you out, I’m not as tuned into the transfer game so I wasn’t sure if lequipe were one of the ā€œtier one redditā€ sources or just more shit (it’s all shit)

Wait, what?
Hopefully City thrash them today and they get that much needed humble pie.

This tweet makes no sense. Did L’Equipe report it or not lol, is this guy unsure if that report actually happened or is he saying we allegedly offered that?
