Arsenal transfers 25/26

Sign of the times

Alvarez joins and I’ll order all three of next season’s shirts. He will be a star here. Please, please, fucking please let this be true.

Well, the interest is genuine and we have heard already that they made enquiries about him last summer.

Personally I don’t see him returning to England for us.
I think he’d much rather go to PSG or Barca if he were to go. But you don’t know. Usually for us to make enquiry means the player is somewhat open to that move. Definitely one to watch.

Completely agree, and automatically starts for us upfront too.

Acknowledgement from the OA Transfer Guru surely means this is something to get excited about!

Well, I’m the one that created his thread in the first place.

I still don’t think he’s worth 100m.

Can’t decide on Alvarez, I think if we go for him it’s that LW/CF joint role that I’ve been saying. Meaning no out and out LW, given his fee and our recent spend.

Like the player, think he suits us, just rather we finally solve the left side properly. Depends if any of the top ones come available, if not then I’ll take juju.

It’s not our money at the end of the day! Ā£100m isn’t a lot of money in the transfer window these days. If we sign him and he bangs, happy days!

I am really not exited or impressed with this signing

Alvarez is the sort of finisher we need and has experience in the PL but it means high earners like Havertz and Jesus will probably leave because Gykores and Merino are already options upfront.

If Arteta wants another top attacking player, as well as Alvarez, like Kvara, Lookman, Barcola, Gordon or Tonali, then Martinelli or Trossard might also be sold but realistically both Alvarez and a player like Kvara are unlikely in the same window.

Is he?

He’s definitely a sharpshooter. That’s by far his greatest quality.

Problem with Alvarez is that he works better playing off/with someone up front. Whether it’s Messi, Lauti, Sorloth, Haaland, etc.
He’s also someone who tends to be everywhere but the box.

For me he’s a Trossard successor more than anything. And I think this summer would be a good time to move on from Martinelli.

He’s a decent finisher and different to either Gyokeres or Havertz who are both about a foot taller but in our attack he’d be more efficient in front of goal than them.

City can also expect competition from their rivals United, who are huge admirers of Anderson and also see him as an ideal addition to their midfield. Arsenal too are expected to be in for top midfielders and Anderson is admired at the Emirates.

He always stood out as a top passer whenever I watched Forest last season. This season he’s getting more exposure through his England call-ups. He does everything you want from a modern Premier League midfielder: busy, good engine, combative, able to receive under pressure, with an eye for a forward pass. The killer pass isn’t necessarily part of his game yet, but that will come. Plug and play, you know exactly what you’re getting from him.

I would sell Zubimendi to Madrid to bring in Anderson.

Might just cry a few tears of joy if we can bring Kvara to the carpet
