Arsenal transfers 25/26

I hope we’re the bad actor here and simply 'in it’s to pump the numbers up for Palace.

Guehi-out of here with the Arsenal nonsense though.

I could understand it if we want

Timber and White RB
Cala and Hincapie LB

Mosquera and Guehl back up CB’s?

I can’t see us signing him this January at all - makes no sense for either side. I could see us making de facto promises and contract offers for the summer though, trying to convince him to stay at Palace and join later.

If the club doesn’t see MLS as a LB long term and also views Hincapie mainly as a LB option, then there is a clear opening for another CB. This would also give more overall flexibility if Ben White ends up leaving.

All it says is that we’re in the mix when he’s a free agent. I think that was known already.

If I could take a guess, this has leaked from the player’s side to put show he’s got plenty of suitors. If City get him this month they’ll have to pay way over the top.

I know money talks loudest in the end but it’ll be disappointing if he decides to go to City.

He is being pursued by Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern, Real Madrid, and Barcelona on a free. Not all those clubs will seriously go after him but a few will and they will offer him massive money/signing on fee for the opportunity to play for one of Europe’s most storied clubs. To turn that down for a few extra dollars to go to City, who may end up facing some huge punishment and being managed by Maresca within the next six months anyway, just seems so lame.

John Cross has a shit track record when it comes to transfer rumours.

I do wonder how much longer we can sustain these sorts of purchases without any significant players sales.

Might be looking to let Ben White move on in the summer, and keeping the back line stocked with defenders who offer only a small drop from the starting pair? Also funny if they took away a decent option for City to strengthen when we know full well how dangerous they can be when behind us on points.

We’re good on finance now, particularly if we keep getting into the late stages of the CL.

Ben White on his day gives a close run to Timber.
His latest performance pre injury was magnificent both attacking & defensive wise.

That said he is 28 so I can see why you would want him to be sold considering his injury issues are not getting solved

If Leeds stay up I could see links there given the history with Benny Blanco

How fussed does everyone think Ben White is to be starting? He might be happy out with being on the bench at Arsenal. It’s not like he has huge national team ambitions.

I’ve been giving this a lot of thought, possibly because Benny generally looks pissed-off anyway and he’s really fucking cool when he does that “I don’t give a shit” face at an opposition player, official or our manager.

Of the current crop from the Arteta-built squad I think he’s most likely to be on his way out this summer, even more so than Jesus. I appreciate that’s probably controversial and it is just based on vibes.

He has also had his fair share of fitness issues the past year so it’s not like we’ve had him around much to use him.

He’s probably quite settled in London and Arsenal, earning around £150k pw(which isn’t peanuts for a defender), plus he and his missus had a baby this past summer. Doubt he’s that eager to go.

Reckon he’ll give it another season in hopes of getting fit again and then re-evaluate.
As things stand, I think interested clubs will probably be hesitant to pay up to make a move worthwhile for us or him.

I don’t want him sold, I just wonder if he sees a move on the cards to regain first team football, and we are going to have to consider moving certain players on soon.

-----------Guehi -------- Arteta ---- Hincapie

Benny white’s going nowhere, not sure why he’d leave or Mikel would want him to.

You’ll never manage to replace him for the fee and I don’t think anyone will go much over what we paid given his fitness issues.

Hes absolutely a valid challenger to start over timber when fit, lucky we have both. Would be madness to consider letting him go.

White could walk into the first team of most clubs in Europe, so he might want to move.

We could also get as much as we paid for him but to replace a player of his quality to sit on the bench, unless Timber is injured, won’t be easy.

Totally agree. Benny Blanco is a keeper! As in, one to keep, not a GK before anyone gets confused.

Seems to be replicating it just fine this season.

Still not the normal type of player I would go for and the one less technical player I’ve wanted us to go for has gone terribly so far :eyes:

At least Rogers is proven in this league and still at the start of his career really.
