By the end of next week the club should also have a good idea of what Rodrygo wants to do as well so that will go one way or another.
All that bitching for weeks and there’s a chance we wrap up our business(which involves at least 6 senior players coming in) well before our rivals.

I think after Gyok, Zubi, Kepa, Norgaard, and maybe Madueke we will see things slow down, we will need to focus on getting players out before we go again.

I think the wide player signings will be later in the window as Berta will look for market opportunities. Plus we’ll likely have at least one outgoing (Martinelli or Trossard).
Whichever one goes and for how much will probably dictate which wide player we bring in.

I’m leaning towards Madueke being one and then it’d be between Eze and Rodrygo.
I think if Rodrygo doesn’t make a decision soon or decides to stay we’ll go ahead with Eze and I think that will be a quick operation.
If Rodrygo does decide to go we’ll give it a go and it may drag a bit but like the Sesko/Gyokeres situation, I think there will be a point where if the club can’t find an agreement with Madrid by then they’ll go with whatever backup plan they have in place.

Eze would be the ideal LW signing because he’s already in the PL and wants to come here.
Madueke for 30m is ok as a squad option but hasn’t really shown enough for us to pay Chelsea more than 50m and Rodrygo seems like a lot of effort for an inconsistent player.
Gyokeres, Saka and Eze upfront would be great, especially with Martinelli, Havertz and Trossard on the bench.

If we get a LW as well before the end of July, I’ll go to the Emirates and build a statue of Berta myself.

If we could only snatch Rodrygo now… That’d be great. 
I think Eze is a deal that can be done quicker. I think it’s unlikely that a deal for Rodrygo gets done until Real Madrid are finished in the Club World Cup.

Is it possible that we’re agreeing personal terms with Madueke and Eze but only intend to get the latter?
Admittedly Eze is left sided and getting him doesn’t resolve our lack of cover for Saka, but after talking with a Chelsea mate earlier today his summary of Madueke is “he’s a fucking nightmare. He can be really wasteful in possession.” which has me worried.
It’s the way Berta is working. Get personal terms agreed with multiple targets. Get transfer fees agreed with multiple clubs. Then do the deal. I wouldn’t read anything into this atm.

It’s possible, yeah. I think Eze and Rodrygo are closer in profiles though being playmakers at heart.

I think competition for Martinelli is more important to Arteta than cover for Saka.
The lack of game changers has been lacking in recent seasons so Gyokeres, Eze and Saka upfront is an upgrade on we’ve had and will be a problem for opposition defences.
We will have plenty of quality depth upfront with Havertz, Trossard, Martinelli, Nwaneri and possibly Dowman, so it seems unlikely we’ll spend 50m or more on Madueke.

Got to say that with Gyokeres seemingly in the bag, Eze would be the icing on the cake. He’s going to cost £60m plus but he’ll be worth every penny.
I agree, if we don’t lose any forwards then we are totally stacked. Jesus may still come back and have a role to play too. Martinelli/Nwaneri can be Saka’s back-ups. If we can avoid injuries with some canny rotation, it’s going to be an exciting season.
