Arsenal transfers 25/26

Yes, I am advocating both in addition to my big boy Benny Sesko!

I maintain that we should be targeting three new attackers this summer.

Anybody that thinks we’re going to add 3 attackers all worth Ā£60m+ is living in absolute cuckoo land.

By the time we wrap up Mosquera we’d have spent Ā£85m before adding an attacker we’re not about to drop another Ā£180-200m on attacking talent as well.

I will happily accept a 1 week ban from the mods if Arsenal sign, 3 high-quality attackers in this window. I can’t see this ever happening though.

Make it a permaban and we have a deal.

We’re going to add 6 lol

We’re signing Neymar, Ronaldinho and R9

Well let’s wait and see - it wouldn’t be the first time I’m right on here. We’re buying at least two and I’ve consistently said that we would be spending big this summer. I don’t think a third is out of the question.

We should but a top quality striker or LW will be expensive and we’ve already spent around 100m on defensive players so it’s more likely Arteta will go for a game changer rather than several attacking players who are no better than what we already have.

I get the feeling some of the more underwhelming names being mentioned are firmly in the 3rd attacking option category. Ornie said we were looking at as many as 3 attacking players. We’re probably making enquiries on at least a dozen.

Jackson would fit that 3rd role, but it depends which striker we get, Sesko blocks the progress of a youngster, a 27 year old striker less so.

Once our defensive squad players are in, I think we’ll see the first choice striker followed by the 3rd choice attacker then a quality left winger in August. Unless Martinelli goes.

I’m not saying it’s going to be cheap and I’m not saying that we are going to opt for less quality in favour of getting an additional attacker.

According to Ben Jacobs, the fee for Sesko that Arsenal want to pay is 70m Euros (£60m). Eze has a £65m release clause and according to several reporters, Palace are willing to accept that fee in instalments. The fee for Rodrygo is reported to be £70m.

I suspect some of the deals we know are already done (i.e. Zubimendi, Kepa, Norgaard) will be accounted for in the previous year, namely by 30th June - next Monday. If we see Arsenal announce all three of those signings on Monday, then the transfer fees for those deals get accounted for in 2024-25. That means we start over for 2025-26.

Circa Ā£200m for three attackers, bearing in mind we won’t be paying all that money upfront, it very realistic IMO for this window, plus this would also be offset by any outgoings.

I still think there is a decent chance we also end up with Hato with Kiwior departing.

Watkins better than Jackson, if we want a third choice

I think you’re right, except Zubi. Apparently his club want it completed in the new tax year, not sure why.

I agree.

It’s for FFP reasons. We’ll see a lot of action after July 1st.

It would be great but I doubt we’ll spend much more than 120m on attacking players, as we’ve already spent around the same on defensive players.

But if we do, it does mean that the club really mean business.

If their books are fine this accounting period and are not planning for any significant signings before July, it makes more sense for them to get make the move in July.

Where has anyone said this? :joy:

Let’s hope so cause most of us and Arsenal fans in general are hoping for it.

Pretty sure there will be a mini meltdown if no announcements are made by the end of Tuesday.

If that happens they are not an adult lol
