Really don’t want this at all he’s not the player some people think he is. Think his reputation is really based on moments he has but I question how much he genuinely changes our fortunes and I don’t really think it’s very much.
If we signed someone like Lookman on a low fee to provide cover I’m ok with that but this guy does not improve our front line enough for the money that it’s going to require to bring him here.

Lookman is a good player. Not a needle mover though. It would have to be Lookman plus Alvarez or Isak - abd we aren’t getting either. Our forward line needs star power.
Lookman would be as frustrating as Martinelli.

Disagree. Technical, decision-making and end product all favour Lookman. Very good on his weak foot too. All Martinelli has over him is pace and maybe defensive work I guess?
Martinelli is an extremely limited attacking threat and even Lookman is an upgrade.

I agree, Eze has consistently been one of the best attacking players in the PL for a mid table club so would be great alongside Saka and Gyokeres or Sesko.
Where do people expect Eze to play, for left 8 is cool and being competition for Odegaard but he doesn’t solve the LW issue and we still need a striker also.

It think he’s a good player but also I think he’s getting overestimated too, still relatively unproven and first half of the season he was shite.
Eze is an okay player, but the way he’s being touted about like he’s the second coming of Figo is crazy. Personally I would be a bit underwhelmed if we got him as a first choice player. Won’t mind him as a bench player mind.
Yeah he basically had a hot streak from the end of march which makes his stats look a lot better.
Eze as a midfielder. Where Rice is now, which makes it difficult to get Eze in the side. It’s surprising to compare Eze’s stats from 23/24, where he played AM, to 24/25 in more of a wing role that he did better at AM. I wouldn’t grumble if he came to start on the wing though, he’s got a lot of quality on the ball.
Lookman would be my first choice, as it always seemed realistic to bring in so many other players too. I’d be ok with the more expensive options if it was possible.
I’m not sure why the conversation is not Eze AND Rodrygo - they would both offer different things and I think Eze’s role could be much more varied and would be an impact sub for us as well.
