Any combination of Martinelli Isak, Trossard Isak or even Havertz Isak would be better than Williams Sesko.

Neither are mine, but what would your choices be for LW and/or ST to solve those problems?
Why does it have to be Isak alone?
Why not Isak + Williams?
Why not Gyokeres + Williams?
I mean, I can see spending a record amount on transfers this summer but are you thinking we’re spending about about 200m on forwards alone?

I am not expecting shit if Martinelli & Trossard are our options again.
I agree, an attack with any two of Havertz, Trossard, Martinelli or Jesus starting for us, isn’t going to win the title, despite having Isaak upfront.

are you thinking we’re spending about 200m on forwards alone?
We should be.
Any other position is luxury.
We can live with Karl Hein deputising for Raya
We can live with MLS deputising for LB & DM and White-Timber-Cala rotating as fullbacks
We can live with Nwaneri deputising for Ode & Saka
If we exhaust our money for just CF & LW, we are going to be fine.
GK - Raya, Hein
CB - Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori
RB - White, Timber
LB - MLS
DM - Rice, Merino
CM - Odegaard, Nwaneri, Trossard, Havertz
Wing - Saka, New LW, Martinelli, Trossard
CF - New CF, Havertz
I can’t stress enough how crucial that left side is and how much we fucked up by not improving that position in last 2 seasons.

We can live with Karl Hein deputising for Raya
And Raya has a season ending injury the week after the window closes, you will be happy with Hein until January window?
Hein is not good enough, Arteta’s on a journey to transform the notion of a goalkeeping role and we will be buying another keeper. And from the above list, we’re a defender short. It’s a Hato away from perfection.
Apology rejected!
Yes.
I rather deal with long term injury to Raya(chances of which is slim) then a long term injury to Saka(chances of which is high). Allocating any fund to the defensive side of this squad at expense of attacking side is criminally stupid.
Karl Hein is just an example. You can get good second choice keepers for pennies.
Gyokeres and Lookman? Yes please. I’d take that over just Isak.

Could you please stop being so vague and indifferent about the distribution of transfer funds and speak your mind please?
What do you mean?
I have been completely forthcoming. We need to put as much funds as possible towards a CF & a winger as possible.
Once we sort those positions, whatever fund is left goes to other positions. If it means, no funds at all for other positions, so be it.
I mean absolutely nothing. I was amused by your comment, thought it somewhat hyperbolic and thought it was time for a glass of dry English humour.
Gyokeres
Wirtz
Kerkez
Title.
I think this was a really interesting poll and I’m surprised by the results.
I opted for Sesko and Williams on the basis that I think both would be exceptionally good signings for us against the likely transfer fees that their clubs will demand (circa £50m release clause for Williams, and circa £65m for Sesko).
When it comes to Isak, some reports are suggesting £150m plus, which is getting silly and I’m not sure we could justify spending that fee on him. For circa £150m we could almost get Sesko, Williams and Zubimendi. If Isak was available for a reasonable fee, I may have been more likely to vote for him.

We should be.

We need to invest in our attack and that has to be the focus, but it doesn’t mean we can afford to neglect other areas of the squad which also need addressing.
Backup GK is important, because like @SeanG79 says, if Raya has a long term injury, we are screwed if we have to rely on someone as inexperienced as Hein or Setford.
We have to sign a new midfielder to replace Partey and Jorginho. Zubimendi seems to be the one we’re going to sign.
Where MLS ends up playing will also dictate whether we buy another LB or not.
I actually think in attack we need a striker, winger and a No.10.
I was surprised that most are voting for Sesko & Williams.
Our lack of depth killed our title race this season long before we lost Havertz and Jesus so I think that’s probably at the forefront of our thoughts.
I think we need two strikers. One ready to start now and one high-ceiling youngster who is good enough to come off the bench and get minutes.
A good left winger who can bench Martinelli is just as needed as a striker.

I had a post before this which listed the ideal set of players Arsenal should bring in. Arsenal would ideally bring in 6 players covering for midfield, (or left back), winger, striker and backup goalkeeper.
The post you have quoted is a response to GC who made a point about how expensive a winger and a striker is gonna be, which I agree with.
It’s gonna be expensive but I don’t mind if we exhaust our entire budget on those 2 players if that is what is needed to get the requisite quality.
We are not hamstrung by other areas as much as those two.
Raya won’t get a long term injury. GK injury is extremely rare and if it does happen, we suck it up till Jan. It is less impactful to our season than playing Martinelli as our starting winger for another season, as evidently displayed in last 2 seasons.
Buying Gyokeres, Lookman, a back up GK and keeping Partey, would be a great window.
It means we’d have a top quality attack and plenty of options upfront with Nwaneri, Havertz, Martinelli, Jesus, Merino, and possibly Trossard, if he stays
Since Arteta has been here, we’ve never had an attack that has been more than adequate, which has been highlighted since Saka has been out so a couple of top quality attacking signings would sort that out.
