Arsenal transfers 25/26

See, I feel LW should be priority #1, even above ST.

However, I think the wording from people like Ornstein has always focused on striker. In fact, we know they tried to sign Sesko in the last two windows, and they also tried to sign Watkins too. Seems like Isak is a dream target as well.
Whenever there is talk about a wide player they always use words “may”, “could”, “would like to”. I could very well see us sign one striker and call it a day.

My personal feeling is that if we sign someone like Isak, that’d be it for forwards. If we sign Sesko, there may be some room to add another forward but that’s still also dependent on Trossard most likely being sacrificed. Would have and should have been Jesus but his knee injury complicates things.

I don’t give a fuck - if Arsenal doesn’t sign a left winger, Arsenal would essentially be wasting all the effort, money & goodwill of last 3 seasons.
It’s a non-negotiable. Arsenal will compete for 4th spot without a proper left winger.

Even if we were to sign Isak?
On paper Saka, Havertz, Isak, Nwaneri, Trossard, Martinelli and Jesus isn’t too bad. Remember, Isak has the capacity to play out wide too.

It will continue Arsenal’s right side bias which teams have figured out. Arsenal will always hit the wall like they have done in past 3 seasons. Arsenal will continue to be predictable without a left winger.

Interesting. I’ll make a poll about it actually because I’m curious now which one would people prefer.

A LW is an absolute must

That area is of huge concern especially with the way we play

We cannot continue to neglect it, all the current options for the LW spot are underwhelming and just not good enough

This is where scouts have the cutting edge as oppose to fans. The LW’s we are aware of are not proven game changers or world class quality, there is a gap of top top LW’s, compared to a decade ago.

Scouts in such scenarios step up and find you that hidden gem.

The most worrying stat this season has been lack of goals from open play - we are ranked very low. Absolutely essential we look to sign a natural winger, output playmaker, progressive yet holding midfielder to replace Partey.

I think we need a striker, a wide player, a midfielder and a goalkeeper at the very least with maybe one midfielder leaving and a defender leaving (Partey/Jorgi and Zinny probably).

And we need to tweak our play a bit to try and get more out of our attack and our possession dominance.

Arsenal scouts and Arteta/Edu nearly broke us with Pepe v2.0 in Mudprick for almost £100m. Our scouting network has left me disappointed as of late.

Could add the following to the list:

Viera (?)
Marquinhos
Kiwior (?)
Sterling (loan spell ends)

Nelson may not be fit enough to get sold.

Why does Gyokeres seem to always get so little attention?

40 goals 10 assists in 40 games, supposedly happy to leave this summer and priced around £60m.
If you offered me Isak for £150m or any price Newcastle would realistically accept, I would rather Gyokeres for £60m

That then allows us to sign a quality winger as well.

To be honest I’d be very happy signing Gyokeres and Sesko but I doubt they’d both join unless Arteta made guarantees that they’d both start, with either one on a wing or in a 2 striker system.

Sesko’s numbers, whilst still good, are far less impressive, though I do understand this is in Bundesliga at 21. Is that the reason everyone seems keener on him?

From fans I don’t think that’s true. It does seem like teams are not exactly lining up for him. Why that is, I dunno. Gotta ask them.

Could speculate it is down to recent striker flops in the Portuguese league putting off teams. Off the top of my head, the last one to succeed was Falcao over a decade ago.
I don’t think that’s enough reason for nobody to take a punt on him.
My personal feeling is that his next destination is already decided and he’ll move there in the upcoming summer.

Would you now?

How many games have you watched him in the last two seasons?

Not many if you still think he’s at Napoli :joy:

He’s still owned by Napoli tbf. He only went to Gala on loan.

He’s on a loan?

In that case I apologise and retract my snide statement @Truth_hurts haha

Yeah he signed a one year extension as part of the loan, contracted to 2027

Yeah his relationship with Napoli is done.

They’re just waiting for an offer.
