Arsenal transfers 25/26

I keep going back and forth about Draxler, I think I want to like him more than his game deserves. Perhaps he would fit well in the league here. He does lack end product, even in a complete bully team like PSG who score like 100 goals each season in Ligue 1, in three seasons he hasn’t gotten more goals than Theo did in that one season here lol

But again yeah… A bit like with Rabiot. Besides looking a bit like an upper class posh boy and having a rabid mum if media has it right (ye), I want to like him more than his game suggests I think. He is also actually pretty similar to Gonzo. Obviously a bit better and so forth, but they’re not miles apart.

I also think both of them would normally cost us our entire transfer budget. But fuck, I’m nihilistic about this fucking team and club atm. Can’t believe we bottled it so hard at the end, can’t believe scum might make the CL finals, can’t believe a dysfunctional Chelsea overtook us in top 4, can’t believe Valverde bottled it harder than I though was possible even for him. Can’t believe a lot of things right now, and with that, I can’t believe we’ll raid PSG for some low hanging fruit, even if I love the idea in general and I have said and thought the same thing many times.

My post is a bit all over the place I see.

Not sure about that. He has great instincts and awareness. I’ve seen him quite a while put some crosses in without looking but those crosses are always on point. Probably had good training and proper understanding of his teammates. Laca/Auba should be happy with such an acquisition.

I would love to see us get rid of everyone besides Auba, Laca, Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Torreira, Sokratis, Mavropanos, Maitland Niles, Guendouzi. I’d keep Martinez as back up keeper, bring back Nelson. Bring up some of our talent Youth players and start bedding them in. We got to have at least 4 or 5 that more then able to step up.

Sell off Ozil, Miki, Xhaka, Iwobi, Monreal, Kos, Mustafi, Chambers, Elneny,Ospina and Kolasinac. Throw all those funds into the transfer kitty. I doubt we get rid of them all, so I’d keep Iwobi, Kos and Monreal as squad players

Buy in a left and right back, two top center backs, A center midfield and box to box one, Two wingers one on the left and right. Even a third choice striker who offers something different to Laca and Auba. We go from there.

None of that will happen. I think a Center Back, Left Back, Winger and creative Center midfield are must buys.

Rabiot would be a free transfer but maybe we’d have to bribe his mother to push that through. Step forth Raul Sanllehi :crown:

Maybe it’s idiotic but Draxler reminds me of De Bruyne. Obviously the impact that they have on the game is like day and night, but I think they have very similar attributes. The way they run, the technique they possess with the ball. Draxler has everything to be a good 8/10 for an Emery side. A poor mans De Bruyne. Let us be that poor man!

yeah Rabiot would be free but we’d pad his salary and sugar his agent fee instead (like you said), that’s usually how it goes lol

And while I hate that idea, it may be the year for it. We are seeing several veterans leave and should have ample wage relief.

Yuck no not Draxler.
Much bigger fraud than Guardiola, same as Gotze

If money was less of an issue I’d have no problem whatsoever taking a punt on Draxler and/or Rabiot, it’s not like you buy and use and throw away, if it doesn’t work out you should normally get a good portion of the money back since both of them have a good portion of their career left (inb4 we do our player sales like we’re the salvation army).

The problem is that I think we need to nail our transfers spot on, we have very little margin for error compared to our direct rivals I think.

Rabiot would be a good investment. He’s much better than anything we have in midfield and we could probably sell him on down the line if he does well.

Tierney, Rabiot, N’Dicka and Fraser would represent a fantastic summer of buying in my opinion.

If ever a young defender was built for the PL it’s N’Dicka and we’d be mad to let him go when his stock isn’t as high as it has potential to be.

I would love to see Draxler wearing our colours. I loved him in the past and was sure to see him follow the steps of Robin van Persie about the position. He was born as winger but showed the right skills to be an excellent mobile/shadow striker. Today should represent a good replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

Certainly he will leave Paris in the summer. Recently had an altercation with Neymar and the other team-mates separated them.

Draxler has been linked with Arsenal every window since about 1996.

Draxler doesn’t have the final ball, brain, workrate and dedication of De Bruyne. More of a Nasri not living up to early potential.

He’s also on 180k wages IIRC

Gotze isn’t a fraud at all and had a very serious condition that derailed his career.

He was doing things as a teenager that most players can’t hope to do as seasoned vets. Not only that he was a key part of a title winning team, he earned his stripes.

Draxler on the other hand has never lived up to the early hype.

Yeah agree on both fronts.

Umtiti has HUGE fitness concerns and likely needs surgery.

Massive risk considering we simply cannot get this next CB acquisition wrong.

No point a club like ours having a top defender who can’t be relied upon to play week in week out.

Umtiti isn’t happening if the reported fees are anywhere near accurate.

I’d blow our entire ‘warchest’ on De Ligt

That’s definitely my concern too. Big question marks over his fitness and I’m not sure it’d be wise to blow €50m on a CB with injury problems.
