This is the only one I’m iffy about. In the Liverpool game he totally missed a couple of wide open passes that would have put us in on goal.
He’s a bit of a low IQ baller.

he needs a run of games… really.
Backup players need to force the issue when they get minutes though (not saying he gets enough to do so), look at Trossard, he gets some starts cos he largely performs when asked.
Nelson been living off the Bournemouth goal for a while now and I say that as someone who did quite like him.
I don’t think he has the attitude to really force the issue and become a useful squad player for us. Same with Eddie.
I think our summer signings will depend on how certain members of our current squad perform. I’d say that Nketiah, ESR, Vieira, Partey and Ramsdale have the most to prove in the remaining months.
If Havertz playing false nine continues to work well for our wide players then we’re more likely to buy “youthful experience” up front and go big in midfield.
does this imply Martinelli will have less playing time or he will switch place with Jesus?
Jesus played RW before (for us) and why just mentioned the left?
strange.
I really like all of those names. Would be happy if we could land a couple of those.
Nico Williams looked like a beast the last time I watched him, that was a while ago though.
We absolutely need an additional strong wide option.
Edit, seems he’s doing great nowadays, a transfer to a top club is only a matter of time apparently.
Soares, El Nenny, Nelson and Nketiah have no business being in the squad of a team with title aspirations. Not having to field the likes of Turner, Mari and Holding this season has been as good as a signing.
Jury is out on Kiwior and Vieira as well. Wouldn’t lose any sleep if either or both were sold.
With the amount of football Jesus misses and the amount that we over play Saka, Jesus moving wide should be a positive.
Nico Williams
Toney
Neto
Not a ton to get excited about there for me but they all seem to fill gaps in the squad. I love Neto but I worry about his health.
Neto and Zubimendi would be great and certainly strengthen the first team, especially if Partey is leaving but we’ll still need a striker which means it won’t be a cheap window.
So we’ll need to sell a few of Nelson, ESR, Lokonga, Vieira, Nketiah, etc, to help pay for them.
know what happened to ESR?
I thought he was fit enough to play against Pool.
Don’t tell me he got a setback.
It’s John Cross. Dude hasn’t been a relevant source in eons.
Dude is just rehashing shit that’s already out from other reliable sources, adds his own twist and is presenting it as new information.
ok, waste of my time to think “why”
We’d need a cm, but I do think these are squad upgrades. Far better than Nelson and Nketiah for example.
Would we all be happy with a summer of Neto, Zubimendi and Vlahovic/Toney?
Neto, Zubimendi and Watkins would be better but if we got just two of them, it would still be great.
Nope.
Zubi - yes
Neto - meh
Toney - meh
Vlahovic - yes
No hato - sad
No LCM - sad
I’m not sure we need a CF and a winger. One top class signing for the front line means we can shuffle the pack. Save that money and use Havertz as another CF backup. buy another CM or keep Partey one more year with Zubi and Rice.
I personally think we are short one big CF signing, in the midfield and a wide player would give us great depth and options there.
Jesus is getting to the point of almost unreliable in terms of fitness and we need some options outside of Saka and Martinelli.
Liverpool have Salah, Nunez, Gakpo, Diaz and Jota amd City have Haaland, Alvarez, Doku, Grealish, Foden and Silva who plays there a bit too.
Jesus, Saka, Martinelli, Neto, Vlahovic/Toney with Kai as another option would sex things up a bit for us.
I also want Hato, so hope we can nab him.
