Think we’ll see Matt Smith depart soon as well
He’s already gone right?
yup to Wigan I believe
I know Edu and co. would be the ones doing the deals but how much of the onus is on the player agents? Like Cedric has no future here, Edu can’t really do more than tell Kia to find him a new team right?
If we buy Raya it means we have way too many GK’s so we need to shift a couple of Runarssen, Hein or Turner, who won’t get on the bench.
We also need to get money in for Holding, Pepe, Lokonga, Elneny and possibly Vieira but Tierney might be a good squad option, unless we get a good offer for him.
As for Balogun and Nketiah, I would keep them for this season because any injuries to either Jesus or Trossard and we don’t have much cover, then we can see who deserves to stay.
Has he really?
Must have missed that, ive been away a bit so not been able to keep up with everything
Glad I know where hes gone, keen to keep an eye on him
As good as this window has been, if someone had said that we’d spend more than 100m on Havertz and Raya, most of us wouldn’t have believed it.
Edu be like:
Agreed. Timber is the only player we didn’t overpay at least 50% for.
I posted this earlier and it already looks like we might have to keep them. ![]()
Nketiah was one of our brighter players tonight, he’s not top level but I think he’ll be useful this season. I’d still prefer us to get another right sided attacker in. Vieira did okay tonight but his aerial challenges are embarrassingly half-arsed and he’s still getting shoved off the ball too easily.
It is not about Havertz or Rice… it is about we bought from EPL clubs.
If you buy from Europe, like Germany, or Netherlands… the price is making more sense.
Look at Lavia, look at Caicdeo… all overpriced.
Do we really need Kai and Rice? I don’t know.
I know there are options in Europe and with 170m, we probably could be 3-4 very good players.
True. How much would Gvardiol cost if he was already in a EPL club before City came knocking? Would he be worth more than the £77m they paid?
Agreed, I think the £170m we shelled out on Rice & Kai was just extortionate.
minimum, 100m.
This dude was great in the WC… won’t be cheap
Unless he was an Arsenal player, prior ![]()
And we got two very good players. Don’t get why Arsenal finally spending big to get their top targets is a problem tbh.
I think it’s cause at first glance it seems like £170m worth of depth (which is good), rather than £170m to transform us into something special.
Guess it’s too early to tell, but I don’t think we’re that much better than we were a few months ago even after spending £170m.
Hope I’m proven wrong though.
I really dont think you can judge either player and whether they have been a success or not yet. Lets wait and see how the team is doing after 10 games before making judgements. Both need to adjust to the system.
United got rinsed by Chelsea for Mason also
We haven’t played a single competitive game how can anybody make a judgement
