I’d go for PSV’s Sangaré.
The guy is seriously underrated and I think he’d be a perfect Partey understudy. Should cost less than €30m I reckon.

We’ll get Oriol Romeu on loan, then sign him to a 3 year deal

Look at all the renewed transfer optimism post Elneny injury.
The problem here unlike last January is compounded by other sides being still active in the market too.
We simply cant ignore either factor.
Douglas Luiz was rumored to be signing a new deal but I don’t think it’s happened yet. He has only one year left on his current deal and makes a lot of sense to me if Villa won’t try to rinse us too hard.
He’ll be at a top club soon enough, why the hell not.

If we were on the fence about signing a midfielder this window or waiting until the winter, it makes sense to get off that fence. But I don’t it makes much sense to sign somebody we clearly don’t want like Arthur just for another body. We need reinforcements but it sounds like Partey is back pretty soon and Elneny likely before or around the international break. We’ve got a general midfield issue that needs solving but the acute problem is really a 1-3 week problem.
Wouldn’t mind him in all honesty. Far better option then guys like Arthur and Rabiot in my opinion .
Is that confirmed? Some of the reporting suggested a season ending injury.
