Arsenal transfers 25/26

I think in January we’ll likely hear the old “ it’s so difficult to get things done in January “ I wouldn’t be hedging by bets on Jan.

Neves is obtainable but FdJ or Bellingham is the dream elite level signing.

If we continue our form and we look like legit title contenders we can get him in Jan or the Summer

We very well might, but I don’t know that it would go down well if we’re nine points off the pace after the WC and the window is open.

It may be naïve but I really do think the club was simultaneously satisfied with being back in Europe at the end of last season and would understand that it was our inaction in January that cost us UCL football. We have to hope they take those lessons into the planning for this season.

@sevchenko Bellingham would be incredible but I feel like he’s destined for Liverpool. He definitely looks like the next piece Dortmund are going to flip.

I think the answer is no, but maybe Lokonga and Vieira are good enough and ready enough to contribute?

Mudryk and Caicedo would probably cost 70m and still be a gamble but would absolutely complete the squad and continue the trend of growth for the future.

I think we’ll end up with just another young winger to fill the Pepe minutes. Potentially sniping Tielemans on deadline day if Leicester cave in and lower the price.

Not even sure Brighton would sell caicedo for
70mill

Don’t think We are signing anyone in this window now. Vieira Filling in on the wing. Jesus too. When Nketiah is playing striker . We move again on January.

Big mistake if that’s the case. In January we’ll get excuses about how there are no good options available.

Just by the nature of this season with the WC right in the middle of it we’ll need reinforcements.

With a World Cup this winter it’s nearly impossible to predict what the market is going to be like in January

Can safely predict Real Madrid spending 150m on the newest shiny toy from the WC though.

I agreed with what Leper said on another thread. Not bother if we get the midfielder and winger in January. Quality over just getting in a number who might not be good enough . True this is not deadline day 2011 :joy:. . Let me take us back to August 2011 where we suffered opening day 8-2 loss from Man Utd, we rushed and went panic buying market to sign 5 players (Andre santos, ju-yeong park, Benayoun, Martesacker) Per was a good signing that’s the real crumbs. Benayoun did a job as a decent stop gap though.

That was the epitome of a Wenger transfer window.
Sell your best players, replace them with inadequate players in a massive panic buy, then go into the first game unprepared and proceed to throw away yet another season through a lack of any plan.

Constantly selling your best players like Cesc, Nasri, RVP, etc, is bad enough but replacing them with dross is what cost him his job.

Wenger became stubborn and reactionary, which was the opposite of what he was when he first came here and was successful.

Although Arteta doesn’t seem to follow that trend, he still needs a couple of players to strengthen a weak squad.

An injury or loss of form to any of our attacking players or CM’s means we’re really going to struggle when the fixtures start getting congested so he has to get a couple of decent signings in.

Totally agree with all of that.

Perhaps we’re right to have a little nagging doubt about the Edu/Arteta “we’ll be fine” approach to a clear issue with our attacking options back in January. It worked out well in the end in that we got an absolute steal in Jesus but a lack of goals cost us 4th last season.

I’ll be happier once I’ve seen a few of our back-up options putting in solid performances.

Regarding the Elneny news, there was a tweet this morning before the news had broke stating he suffered a significant injury and would be out for a long time. Also said that Arsenal would entering the market for another midfielder.

Decided not share the now deleted tweet because Twitter, but looks reliable now.

Here it is @Flexo - Orndog confirming the injury to Elneny

We definitely need to buy a midfielder now. Partey is always injured and Elneny is our only reliable cover. I don’t want Lokonga or Xhaka being thrown into that position.

This was before Ornstein. ArsenalDyl was the account that tweeted the news around 9am this morning.

Either we trust lokonga or get a stop gap player

Arthur loan deal incoming.

Ffs please not Arthur
