Yeah i cant imagine someone like Berta joining up with us if the plans were mediocre as he had a big amount of choice as to where he was gonna go. If our plans were pitiful i feel the club would have just stuck with the guy they had there as interim instead of getting someone of high regard in. If they stuck with that other guy i would have been a lot more concerned.

We’re having a big summer in terms of quality signings and clearing out deadwood, but we’re not splashing £100m on any one player. This one is about depth and raising the squad floor again.
I’d wager that the club has already finalised a couple of incomings. A younger Wenger once said “June is when you win or lose your summer transfer window”.
