I think I’m just embarrassed about the state of the club and as a supporter I feel protective of the club. I don’t want to be a laughingstock the way Spurs were (or Sunderland).
From an entertainment standpoint I do think it may be a bit boring. Nobody wants to watch a midtable club continue to be a midtable club. It would be super interesting for a neutral viewer if Stan and Josh really go for it with big money and we still stink the place out.
I think these docs are more suitable for sides like us who have so many ups and downs. The City doc got boring because of how successful City was. Juve’s too.
The Spurs one and the Sunderland one were far more interesting.
It will be all propaganda to boost Arteta and the Kroenke’s tarnished reputation. Seeing the spuds AON you’d think they were the next big thing in world football.
I have to think that the club will have a lot of control over what actually makes it into the series, otherwise they wouldn’t have agreed to air their dirty laundry and not have much say on things. Having watched some bits from the Scum series, it all seemed fairly manufactured to me. You’d have Levy having a conversation with a player and basically putting his “acting voice” on for the cameras, so I don’t think it’ll exactly be that in depth or anything. Still, it may not be the best idea to have cameras following them around during what is such a crucial season for us.
