I understand, you want this topic to be an orgy of slagging off Andrew Tate. Of I’m going to post if I see something which I disagree with such as ‘he has admitted to rape’.
I often try to include question marks in my posts, as people tend to find them to be helpful indicators, signalling when a question has been asked.
You said you were shocked by the strength of the negative feeling towards Andrew Tate, the main thing I’m asking is why you would be shocked given what I outlined in my first two paragraphs? The follow up question is whether you think those actions, as described by him himself, are defensible.
You have massively misunderstood me and your question marks don’t help as much as you think if your question conflate ideas and appear to be leading questions.
I can fully understand why people do not like him and his views but it is the level of disdain, I struggle with. People genuinely hate him. I’m talking in real life but the vibe on here is people living hate the guy.
He’s a womaniser and exploits women. Morally, that’s not something that I agree with. Using and abusing women isn’t something I see a positive trait either.
Nearly everything I’ve heard from the guy is related to self improvement, building more financial freedom, fighting the demons of mental health and funnily enough being prepared to fight to protect females (although even this is a bit barbarian and old school).
The idea of either disliking Tate or being a supporter of female exploration and disrespect is a false dichotomy. It’s possible to agree with somebodies point of view on one aspect and disagree with many of their points.
It’s called being an adult able who can exercise critical thinking. See how patronising that was? A little bit like insinuating that question marks indicate questions. They do, but the don’t indicate the quality or clarity of the question.
I’ve genuinely never met an Andrew Tate fan. By fan I mean somebody who invests serious tike, money or positive energy into him. Know quite a few who watched his Piers Morgan interview and thought he spoke sense.
I think it is important that everybody has a voice. Should children be listening to somebody like Andrew Tate? My question is why the hell are they?
Oh and yes, I think he is a misogynist to a degree. Does he hate women? Not sure. Mistreat women? Definitely. Mistreating is worse than hating females in my opinion.
They’re really very straightforward questions for you to answer lol.
- Why are you shocked?
- Do you defend his self confessed actions outlined in the first two paragraphs of my post?
- Would you now concede that misogynist is an appropriate label for him?
I don’t see how those questions are particularly leading or that I am conflating any ideas in posing these questions (I don’t even understand what you mean by suggesting I’m conflating ideas here).
They’re three pretty straightforward questions that are easily understood and answered by someone who is interested in having a discussion.
If you still struggle to understand the level of disdain after reading those initial two paragrpahs, then I don’t think there’s anything further that I can say to help you here.
You clearly need to watch a bit more of his content then, or at least be more honest when characterising his content.
“Fighting the demons of mental health” This is the guy who says that depression isn’t real and that therapy not only doesn’t help, but is actively detrimental to people who engage in it. How is this compatible with your claim?
Depression isnt real, therapy is harmful and for losers. Yes, these words are super useful for young men who might be struggling with their mental health.
Again, you give the impression of someone who isn’t familiar enough with his content to run defence for him like you’re trying to. Either that or you are nearly totally disingenuous. I go with the more charitable interpretation of you not really fully knowing what you’re talking about.
To a degree? You couldn’t quite bring yourself to say something that’s explicitly condemnatory, without some sort of qualifier
Happy to just leave this here, there’s clearly fuck all chance of us finding common ground lol
Andrew Tate is not the hill you want to die on.
Definitely not! He isn’t going to tweet me, give me a million pound or let me drive his Bugatti!
Agreed, I don’t and won’t die on this hill. He probably isn’t a great human being but he does say some very sensible things.
So did Ted Bundy. Sometimes people’s actions dwarf the smart things they might also say.
That’s fair.
These sensible things he does say goes against the powers that be. Even with Donald Trump, he is very outlandish but what is it about him that got him deplatformed is what intrigues me.
I’m definitely open to the idea of Tate being an egotistical cunt and a criminal. I also think it is possible that the protection of women isn’t the agenda here with those in power, it could be shutting him the hell up.
Well if we are to believe the transcripts released, he has admitted to “money laundering and other criminal things”. He’s also on video admitting to drug dealing.
His own words are going to convict him.
They should be enough but we both know that money can make a lot of problems disappear!
@Truth_hurts trying harder to defend Andrew Tate than Andrew Tate himself who would probably just shout about how he’s got lots of cars and can do what he wants. And while claiming he doesn’t like Tate.
Whatever your take on that, you have to admire that talent for mental gymnastics.
I’ve got a ‘Free Tate’ t-shirt on as I’m typing.
And I didn’t say that I didn’t like Tate just that I have no strong opinion. Outside of RVP and the **** that made up a false pregnancy rumour about 15 years ago, don’t think I hate anybody.
Mate this OA once they’ve been told someone is bad that’s it; trying to get them to see another perspective is damn near impossible.
And yet you persist. You’re a hero really.
When it comes to topics, members see the nuance from a different perspective, when it comes to people I don’t bother, I just sit back and watch the 2 minutes of hate.
I’ve seen flat earthers put up a better defence of their idea.
So that’s why you always chose the opposite side. If everyone were hailing Tate I’m sure you would be hating on him.
My idea that he might not be guilty of rape?
You are just projecting now
