Don’t change the base of the conversation, starting to talk about the trophies, we’re talking about the transfer window. It’s pupulist, a typical Donald Trump modus operandi.
I mentioned a precise situation: Manchester United will buy Paul Pogba for over 100M pounds and we bought a player on the same level for 30M. With 100M pounds, Wenger bought Ozil, Sanchez and Granit Xhaka, more or less.
During this period when everyone are capable to spend many money on a player, could be good to have a person with the control.
You’re right about the replacement of Robin van Persie if you consider the dutchman as the principle goalscorer, but since his departure to Manchester United, Wenger has increased the power of our attack with Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Alex Iwobi, Joel Campbell who are better than Marouane Chamakh, Gervinho, Arshavin and Park.
Arsène has the intention to improve the quality on attack. If this intention would be absent, what would be the sense to pay the release clause to sign Jamie Vardy or to offer many money for Alexandre Lacazette?
We need to wait, this situation is set to be solved in the next days.
ok, Wenger tried to sign Vardy and Lacazette not why has the intention to improve the qualities on attack, but why talking with other clubs is his hobby during the free time.
None of us doubt that he’d like to improve our forward line! What we are saying is that he doesn’t actually follow through and make something happen if there isn’t a target who is obviously available. We criticise him because he has rigid valuations and if he can’t get someone within his own very specific parameters then he’s happy to just wait it out for another season. The problem is that this is happening summer after summer!
Intentions are useless unless you follow through and actually make something happen. I’m sure his intention has been to find a better striker for the past two, three or four summers.
The football world completely misunderstood the situation. I think that is partially because of the misinformation laid out by the media, or the fact that it was presented to the public without any context.
I suppose I understand the displeasure behind that, seeing as those people don’t know the facts behind the bid.
But for the people that actually know about the release clause situation (especially Arsenal and Liverpool fans), how can they still possibly question and feel insulted about the pound that perfectly and legally met the clause?
You don’t just throw an extra million on top when the price is set.
Unless you need to and feel there is an agreement to be made without litigation. This has been beat to death but if a release clause won’t be honored and it won’t be litigated, then it isn’t much of a release clause, is it? This isn’t as black and white as some are making out, but I’ll leave it b/c there are plenty of other sticks to beat AW and Gaz and the board with other than Suarez.
Yes indeed gents on that note can we keep this thread free of Suarez bollocks now pleaase? If people would like to discuss it further for whatever reason please start up a new thread.
