Yes, wtf?
I’ve never seen the dude show urgency once in his time at Arsenal.

Well that’s been the main issue with Lokonga at Arsenal so @Trion was raising that question for a very good reason.
He has been a non-entity when given starts at Arsenal. The game passes him by, he doesn’t press well and he always seemed to be a yard and second behind the play. The opposite of a protagonist.
I know, that’s why I was also shocked and confused.
This is the same kid that a year ago Odegaard was screaming at when we were playing City at the Etihad because he was ball watching while Odegaard was doing the dirty work.
I genuinely cannot understand how the dude was in that Arsenal environment and couldn’t be bothered but a loan at Luton woke him up.
Is he playing the same position for luton? I always felt he was a bit out of place being asked to deputise as a full on DM for Partey. His positioning was shit.
Seemed better going forward as more of a B2B, is that what he’s doing at luton or still playing deeper?
Let’s not forget most of the time he was deputising was because of a desperate injury and in a time where our style under Mikel was being worked through. Not saying bring him into the fold next season but if Mikel likes what he sees then won’t be against it.
Double pivot with Barkley and he was the one that often sat deeper.
Especially later on in the game he was often the last man defending for Luton while everyone was bombarding forward and he was cleaning trouble on counters like it was nobody’s business.
Fair, guess he’s just kicked himself into gear then. Maybe feels wanted at luton and didn’t feel utilised here, only thing I can really think of.
You’d think worth a bit of graft to take your chance at Arsenal though
I say we give him a second chance
Give him some games in pre-season then sell him for Balogun-money.
give him an ultimatum to commit to either Sambi or Lokonga
I think that’s probably the approach but let’s see if that was just him just upping his game for the occasion.
Personally I’m a bit bummed that we never saw that intensity from him here. He looked lively in his first few matches here but he was still a very nonchalant player.
Got multiple opportunities due to either Xhaka or Partey being out. Then in a crucial part of the season, dude lost his spot to Elneny which was an awful look to me. That was when I kinda gave up on him.
With the Klopp co-sign we might have to bump the asking price to £40m ngl
Fantastic ball from Sambi. Keep performing lad. Help us get more money for you!
I was expecting us to give him another look in the summer to see where he’s at, perhaps use him as cover.
Good on the club if they’re proactive about it and don’t want to fuck around. Good for Lokonga as well as he can have clarity on his situation and can seek for a new team as early as possible.
great here comes the £2m with add-ons paid over a 5 year deal type of bids
I think he’s done enough this season to make a PL move for himself.
Is £17M recoupable? I think so.
I’d expect it to be somewhere between £15m-20m plus a decent sell-on clause.
You’re getting the best part of fuck-all selling to most other leagues in Europe at the moment so unless you’ve got an EPL, Saudi or one of the big UCL sides sniffing around your unwanted players you’re not going to see huge fees, expect half of our outgoing squad players to be doing so on loans.
If we get less than what we signed him for, we lost on this transfer (Can’t be helped though I guess). Kind of funny given the suggested appeal of these ‘cheap punts’ while our expensive transfers are quite successful so far.
My guess is the only two players we’ll sell this summer are Ramsdale and Eddie. The rest will be loans into oblivion.
