We don’t know the full story on Sambi, I can believe that they saw him playing for Anderlecht and thought he was worth a punt at £17m. But like some jobs I’ve accepted over the years turned immediately to shit once there, some signings just aren’t going to work out.
In retrospect we can all say it was a waste of money. But it’s not a £72m-level of a waste of money.
£17m is nothing for a punt on a high-quality prospect. Lad was captaining Anderlecht as well wasn’t he? Seemingly had big mental and technical potential.
A lot of these deals don’t work out.
If we even get back half the fee, it will be a good result now. Hope he does well at Luton.

If he isn’t a standout performer for Luton, he might as well sack it off.
It must be a mental block because he has the tools to be a decent midfield.
His biggest downfall is his lack of intensity.
If you don’t display great passing, dribbling or positional attributes, you can’t then go on to play languidly.
