That’s a hard one. If each season was like 13/14 he would be but he was a very frustrating player albeit with decent end product. He was a good servant though and the FA Cup 2014 goal was vital for us after how it started.
I don’t know how someone scoring the winning goal in 2 cup finals for a club can’t be a legend.
I think for a club of our stature and history, a legend needs to have won the league or won the European Cup. And if not those things, been undeniably world class / carrying the team for many years.
A player scoring winning goals in a couple of FA Cup finals would be a legend by Spurs standards, but we’re better than those small time cunts lol
Ultimately though, it’s all subjective. I’ll always love the bloke. Was a great servant, had some amazing purple patches (at times was performing to a world class standard), worked really hard for the team and was super professional throughout. That’s Arsenal DNA and nobody can take that from him.
Ramsey isn’t a legend wtf
Had a couple big time cup performances and hats off to him but that does not a legend make.
Auba literally won us an FA Cup against difficult opposition and people treat him like shit even though his mum just died and he’s riddled with Malaria. Ramsey’s about as far from a club legend as you can get, can argue he didn’t even really have a good Arsenal career.
Where would you put Alan Sunderland, Steve Morrow and Charlie Nicholas?
He would be a couple of rungs below legend for me. Good club servent and came up with the goods in a couple of big moments but overall I don’t see enough from him to be put alongside the true greats.
Cult hero?
(For that, I’d have to say you’re at the club for an incredibly brief amount of time.)
Only 1 final, but I don’t think Spurs goalscorer in the '91 final would be considered a Spurs legend.
Huh? 2014 and 2017??
Michael Owen has scored winning goals in 2 domestic cups for Liverpool. He’d be considered a legend for Liverpool, in spite of those who came and went before him (Rush, Fowler)
I love this debate.
He’d be considered a legend for Liverpool
Would he? Thought their fans disowned him after the United move ![]()
Who would be classed as our cult heroes? Kanu maybe?
I thought that too lol.
Very hard to say.

Sanchez? Was only here 3 seasons. But then again, he went to Man Utd (bleurgh)
Wiltord would be up there. I would have said Edu, too (although his involvement with the club now is undesirable)
Liam Brady, Anders Limpar, Andy Lininghan probably deserve a shout.

Yes he did, but he was also their player nearest to being world class, which Ramsey wasn’t.
Rush and Fowler will go down as Liverpool legends too. Fowler was at an insane level in his first 4 seasons
Can’t disagree.
Accomplishment is one criteria, but the player’s actual ability is important as well, also longevity and years of service.
Legends usually have more than 2.
If Ramsey would have scored those goal in the 80s’, there would be little doubt over his status. Goals in domestic cup finals aren’t what they use to be.
Probably if Wenger hadn’t produced better sides or it was a different manager they’d be seen as bigger contributions.
