If we’re going to pay a player 400k a week, we want at least someone who is consistent and not always injured.
Under Wenger, Ramsey was never always a first team regular anyway so, as you said, we could get a younger player like Grealish or Maddison and pay them a fraction of that.

When he wasn’t injured I thought he was pretty good and sometimes excellent but the injuries just never stopped.
I find it astonishing that Juve thought he was worth 20m a year salary even on a free.
Lots more players seem to run down contracts and get these ridiculous salaries these days and you can’t blame them for filling their boots with gold.
Once they do though they become unsaleable and unwanted by any other team. Maybe Juve will loan him and pay half his salary to get it done although it will make them swallow their pride.
He’ll probably sit out his contract doing his training being paid 20m to keep fit while he enjoys his pasta and Golf or whatever. Just like we’re stuck with hugely overpaid Ozil, Juve are stuck with him although I personally do think Ramsey is a much better contributor than our video gaming maestro.

It took Ramsey a fucking life time to become a semi reliable squad player lol. Pepe has natural ability and athleticism that Ramsey can only dream about.

There is one thing Ramsey is way ahead of Pepe on, and that’s his bank balance.
Imagine buying a player for actual money that we let go for free a year ago, and then giving him the wages that he wanted in the first place, but only now he’s a year older and more broken.

I don’t think Ramsey was ever considered a great player because he was far too inconsistent.
The only thing that annoys me is that we lost him for nothing.
He really isn’t a player I miss that much, especially with the wages he’s on.
