Still not panicking. Though I’ll give up on the title race if we drop points against Wolves mid-week.
How many of us here are still confident about the league because City aren’t what they used to be and how many are confident because we can get the job done no matter what City do?
A poll would be interesting, if someone can be arsed to create one ![]()
We did have one hand on the trophy. Drawing 0-0 against Nottingham away and losing against United at home are just stupid results. The draw of last night - fair enough. They are having a good season.
Before they signed Semenyo and Guehi, Man City were struggling so if they do win the title, it will be the way they’ve always do, which is buying it.
But we are making it easier for them by doing what we usually do, which is throwing away leads against smaller clubs like Brentford.
What worries me is that it seems that city are catching form, Semenyo and Guehi gave them a huge lift. We are a bit thin in midfield without Merino and Nwaneri and just as it seemed that Havertz might be the difference maker, he was out again. Saka, Ode, Eze are not in form, I cannot think of one attacking player that can be the difference maker for us at the moment. Our best players are central defender Gabriel and central midfielder Declan Rice. Sorry for the pessimism and i hope i am wrong but as long as someone like Saka don’t switch it on for the remaining games I don’t see us winning it.
You can’t have one hand on the trophy this early. If it was like 4 games to go with a decent lead then maybe. But calling it this early when every game in this league is tough is illogical. There’s going to be many more dropped points on the way.
Of course there are going to be dropped points. That doesn’t change the fact that with a seven or eight point lead and the expected consistency of a champion, which includes dropped points, we took that one hand off the trophy.
I am not sure one person has said we have won it.
We are all severely mentally damaged from previous years. I wont believe it till I still our name in yellow with (c) beside it ![]()
I’d probably add that just a couple days ago City’s captain Bernardo admitted that if they lost to Liverpool, it would probably be over.
I think a potential big gap becomes really important once CL is back in the mix in your schedule. Because at that point, the team chasing may make the decision to focus on the CL instead.
Not capitalising on City’s 6 run blip and dropping points yesterday really looks bad. There should have been a 9-12 points gap by now
I’ve seen this film before
…
The last time I saw this movie, Haaland was flicking his hair after embarrassing Rob Holding. I can’t live this again. Would jump of the Burj Khalifa with no harness.
seen this being mentioned
Arsenal’s “poor form” in the last 7 league games: 12 points out of 21 (WDDLWWD) Man City’s “catching up form” in the last 7 league games: 12 points out of 21 (DDLWDWW)
if that is the case in reality they have not caught up at all and nothing has changed at all.
@SRCJJ So close to nail it ![]()
Need to see a convincing performance today against the mighty Wolves.
We need to go to the Etihad knowing losing would still keep us top. All the pressure needs to be on them.
We aren’t going to blow Wolves away, I don’t think. We made hard work of the home game.
I think we’ll win, but those who are determined to find signs of impending doom will be able to.
Win 1-0, or win 10-0, it’s three points all the same. I’d love to win convincingly though to shut the media up for a few days. They have so many narratives waiting. The latest is that we should be winning tonight easily despite the fact that Wolves are no longer pushovers.
Another game like the Sunderland and Wigan games would be ideal thanks! Need to stop fucking around and get back to making some serious distance between ourselves and city
