I would love to be in the position that by the time that game comes they could beat us 25-0 and it wouldnât matter a jot.
Alright this will be fun.
Will we be top of the league going into 2026?
- Yes
- No
Looking at our fixtures I think Everton away might be a bit of an iffy one but I think weâll win the others. Hopefully get revenge against Villa at home ![]()
Considering the schedule between the teams competing for top spot at the moment, weâd have to seriously fuck up not to be top of the league come the New Year.
3 points between the top 3. What he fuck happened? Iâm ready to cancel Christmas.
2 draw and a loss. A ruke once again not to get carried away. To think before that Sunderland game the discussion was about breaking Chelseaâs record.
Itâs the PL and weâve a long way to go.
Just shows how little in reality being 5-8 points clear really is.
2 bad results and youâre basically all caught up again.
You have meltdowns that rival Luca lol
Is Luca a user in the forum? Thought Iâd been relatively calm this season!!
Our lack of killer instinct is a big concern for me now.
Threw away 2 points at Sunderland.
Played at against 10 for most of the game at Chelsea and tried to claim it was a good point.
Then gone and lost at Villa and looked pretty content after we got an equaliser and seemed to have momentum.
The sad thing is I donât believe city is better than us anymore, but theyâve still got players and a manager that knows how to win, whenever theyâve missed out theyâve been blown out of the water twice by Liverpool, unfortunately they donât seem to lose close races so I can see it ending in May heartbreak for us like usual.
Positives are they have a suspect defence and the midfield canât sustain pressure like it used to with ease, they also donât press even half as well as they used to. They definitely have a fragility that has been exposed throughout the season
However, they do have the experience and also their other players are starting to carry the attack. Earlier in the season they arenât winning three games on the spin with Haaland scoring only one goal especially games where the opposition has scored at least twice in two of the games.
Away form will be key for both teams, neither have been convincing in that area.
Still ours to lose until itâs not, gonna need to rotate more especially midfield. Rice and Zubimendi canât be playing as much as they are all season, I think Norgaard should be getting more minutes in games weâre trying to see out even though he isnât of the requisite level generally.
Did some math, âall we need to doâ is win 18 games out of the next 23. Thatâd bring our tally to 87 points, which should be enough to be within touching distance of the title imo.
If we can have some good form like our 23/24 season, we can still afford to f-up about 5 more times (any combination of draws/losses - ideally 3 draws, 2 losses) and still win it.
Just have to start getting wins back on the board now.
We just have to win the remaining League fixtures this year, no excuses. We have a few less important/easier games in between to rest key players. If we fail to do that I will start to question us.
Come January, if we have a full squad available, I expect us to go back to being solid at the back, and effective enough at the front to win most games. But Mikelâs manages the game time of the players will be key. The League has to be the priority, followed by the CL. I donât want to see the likes of Rice, Saka, Gabriel, Saliba etc. playing in domestic cup competitions unless itâs the semifinal/final.
I didnât buy in to the hype a few weeks ago when most pundits and media were expecting us to walk to the league. I think this will go down to the wire.
Gotta get to defensive solidity of first 10 games, we conceded 6 goals in last 5 games.
Just when it looks like weâre impenetrable we lose both star CBâs mate, the clubs cursed is what it is.
Itâs so cursed that we thought we finally have depth, they took out the 3rd choice as well.

Seems like we canât catch a break atm. Look at the next 6 games, they seem seasoning defining in terms of the title race.
The next few games will indicate if we have truly improved because last season we lost points against the teams/in that period.
13/18 points from the next 6 games shows improvement but if we can grab 16 points then that gives us a real cutting edge for the PL title.
We simply need to find a way to win the next 3 and go from there.
Would consider the loan market in Jan, unbelievably for an additional defender. Need to be able to give timber a break with Mosquera and white being out, hopefully both back in Jan but again donât want to rush them.
Feels like this every week to be fair, getting tired of it ![]()
Every single match is a season defining match for Arsenal because we canât be trusted not to throw it all away at the drop of a hat.
