They do it to get people talking about it, which has clearly worked in this case.
Chrome has introduced an invasive search bar to allow us to ‘search tabs’. I know exactly where all my tabs are you fucks, at least make the search optional instead of having it take up so much screen space.
I really like it lol. My phone typically has 75 to 100+ tabs open so I find it pretty handy. I’ve also got a phone with a longer than average screen, so it doesn’t take up too much real estate for me.
Its a good idea. Just make it optional and everyone wins
I just assumed it was. That’s pretty dumb when all you need to do is have a tick box in settings. No need to force it on people who have like 10 tabs open at a time lol (or just force it at all, regardless of how many tabs they have)
All these fucking companies pay huge money for designers now and it’s like if they aren’t changing something they aren’t doing their job.
It’s fine for people like me, ill click buttons and see what they do but i know if my dad is looking at that his attitude is going to be, that’s new better not touch it. Would actually be a handy feature for him too.
Come on, don’t tell me you’ve never hit the 500 safari limit?
I have a tidy up once or twice a year when it randomly pisses me off.
Its to cluttered for me. I have 4 at max maybe sometimes before I purge it
It wasn’t that long ago when I worked out how to close the actual tabs…I had just been accumulating them
I have 40 tabs on my phone, and they’re all articles and wiki pages and YouTube videos that ONE OF THESE DAYS I’ll get around to reading.
Despite the fact that some of them have been there for a couple years lol
I end up with about 6 different instances of OA and other websites at any given time.
I don’t search through existing tabs just click new tab, type first letter or two and im there.
Ends up building up pretty quickly.
Loads of tabs affect battery life too much. Noticed a reasonable difference by just closing them all every so often.
I don’t see how inactive tabs make any difference to battery life. If they were active in the background they wouldn’t need to load up again when you try to view them.

Anything else and I’ll be forced to show my fury in the typical English way.
By tutting and shaking my head in disapproval.
Presumably this was meant to be the other way round.
Oh drat. Made myself look like a right/left tit there ain’t I?
I’ve changed it only because you’ve left permanent evidence of my fuckwittery, as you should. Not for coward reasons.
LAST EDIT I PROMISE: Thinking about it, given our propensity to read from left to right (you’re doing it right now, without thinking about it, brains are amazing). Where was I?
Oh yes that was it. Looking up the pitch from your goal you’d expect the left back to have the lower number. Weird how they’re the wrong way round.
