The crowd was irritating as hell. Very skippable show.
I think youâre the only person with this opinion.
I didnât claim to speak for anyone else?
Never said you did. I personally think the crowd was fantastic. Gotta remember this is the first PPV event in France. They were always gonna go nuts.
Tbh, I do agree that the crowd did grt a bit much at times. There was a moment where they started singing some anthem for like a minute straight while AJ and Cody were going back and forth. It was random and completely ruined that sequence in the match.
Still, overall I think they were a great crowd. Thought they made certain matches feel even better than they actually were.
Btw, what do you guys think theyâre gonna do woth Jacob Fatu. It seems like plans changed as he was initially scheduled to debut a few weeks ago. Not sure if Jimmyâs injury is part of the reason for that.
I actually wonder now if theyâll have Jacob help Jey instead.
The main event the crowd was over the top, it detracted from a match that already suffered from its inevitable outcome.
I did like what they did with the finish of Damian Priestâs match. He needs something to distinguish himself as a champion and a heel who wonât let his stable interfere does seem interesting. I donât think theyâll go for a full face turn because then both world champions would be face and I think one of the champions needs to be heel.
Loud crowds are good. It depends if theyâre going along with the show or making the show about themselves. I donât intend to watch Backlash (So I donât know) but much of wrestling fandom has been the latter.
I actually find that ring announcer more irritating than crowds.
âOmg her voice broke when announcing Cody as the champ at Mania!â
Cry me a river. Growling gremlin.
Samantha Irvin?
Itâs an a bad style I agree. Iâve seen it before and I canât stand it. I was hoping that was just experimental.
Sheâs good but I do find it a bit forced how theyâre trying to put her into some GOAT list.
I do think itâs moreso a trend now because WWE is so hot everyone is trying to overrate everyone involved.
Iâve heard multiple discussions recently of people claiming Cody has been a bigger face of the company than Cena. Some really bizarre shit and the âevidenceâ is âlook at the businessâ.
I feel people overlook how the biggest reason WWE is so hot right now is that a lot of good things fell into the right place at the right time for the last 2 years that have made the WWE machine extremely hot.
A card like yesterday would have been a live event 5 years ago and it would fill half the building at best.
WWE could put a card with Miz and Truth as the main event and it would probably still sell out.
Who the fack believes that?
Iâve heard first it a few weeks ago on some podcast. They were ranking WWE FOTCs, it mightâve been a popular topic within IWC I dunno. They placed Cena dead last. They had Cody second or some shit, with only Austin behind them.
It wasnât even a debate. Like there was agreement across the board that Cena should be dead last.
And I actually kind of respect the views of the people involved. I was listening to it during a workout and my head was just gone.
Iâve seen this shit elsewhere though and it isnât just Cody that gets overrated. Iâve seen claims that Michael Cole is the GOAT, Samantha is the GOAT, Pat McAfee is the GOAT, Hunter is the GOAT booker.
Only thing that isnât GOAT category is Def Rebel so at least thereâs some logic left.
First mistake.
Btw, they havenât renewed his contract yet.
Drew, Seth and a couple others got sorted put. I presume Becky has too given that they put the title on her.
No news on Sheamo though.
I hope he doesnât end up in AEW if he goes(heâd get lost).
Should do what Nemeth has done and be a freelancer. Heâs got enough of a name value to make very good out of it without committing anywhere long term.
Btw, my FOTC in order is:
Austin
Hogan
Bruno
Roman
Cena
Cody.
Itâs ridiculous putting Cody any higher seeing as he has literally just been put in that position.
Where do you put Roman?
Ooh forgot about him. Above Cena and below Bruno.
I wouldnât have an active wrestler on these lists honestly, weâll have no idea how Codyâs and Romanâs legacy will stack up. Cena even if I couldnât stand him was FOTC for 10 years.
Yea I thought about that but for me you have to take into account fan reaction. Like fans LOVED Hogan, Austin and Bruno and never really turned on them. Cena wasnât wanted as the guy for a long long time.
