Oh boy, watching Dynamite now before work and this is a total banger so far. Proper response to Shark week.

Couple of really unexpected results, will surprise some people but I’m intrigued personally.

I know they make loads off the ticket sales for these big stadiums but I really wish they’d do Wrestlemania in Madison Square Garden again.

Surely Paul Heyman for the Hall of Fame in a Philadelphia Mania though? :joy:

Also, side note - WWE referred to it as “Wrestlemania 40” - Vince has had mentioning Wrestlemania’s number off limits for a few years now in case anyone notices how long it’s been running. Possible change in direction?

Future WM main eventers right here.

How is this man still bitter 8 years later

I think modern WWE was fucking shit but I never understood what Punk wanted or what his problem is. Got more title shots than I thought he deserved (In my opinion) he wasn’t all that. His booking wasn’t a crime (maybe except that weird arse HHH match) compared to say Daniel Bryan who was legit.

He makes me laugh because he made it clear in the Colt Cobana podcast he wasn’t even gonna talk about WWE. Since then he constantly mentions them in interviews, even did a WWE show granted that was run by fox. He’s bitter that that didn’t lead to a return to WWE because Vince never wanted him back and that eats him up

Dunno, he is the last big star they created and when the iron was hot they didn’t strike.
Can’t blame him. Just seeing his vision of wrestling so far in AEW the guy clearly has a brilliant wrestling mind and he didn’t like being chained by the system and moreso Vince.
And let’s not dive into how careless they were about his health. He probably would’ve been another Dark Side Of The Ring episode if he stayed on.

Btw, considering he and Bret are close. I wonder how their catch-ups go. Praising each others work for hours, shitting on Vince, Triple H and HBK, comparing Goldberg to Ryback, etc.

Come on now they were desperate to get him back and Fox even got involved.
He was just never gonna agree to come back unless it was under his conditions.

Punk has always been a bitch. Incredible worker and a wrestling great but he was the kind of guy who got mad they put the title on one of the biggest draws in wrestling history and that those guys main events Mania ahead of him

I swear that wasn’t your opinion before, has Cornette converted you?

When did I say Punk wasn’t an incredible worker? I said he didn’t move the needle for AEW and he’s not a huge draw

Yes. Very desperate.

Too many guys at WWE hated Punk for them to be desperate to bring him back.

I thought you generally wasn’t a fan of him or his work.

Out of curiosity, when did you stop watching and did you catch any of his work post-2010?

First off, now you believe Meltzer?
And second, he pretty much says Vince changes his mind all the time. Did he forgive Bret? Goldberg? Brock? Kurt? Steve? Cody?
It became a meme that Vince will always do business with people if there is profit to be made.

Anyway, Triple H never closed the door on Punk publicly and Punk did let it slip that he wasn’t only talking to AEW. It essentially came down to going with AEW and see how it goes or go with the devil that he knew in WWE. (check his podcast with Renee)

A lil bit of trivia btw, Punk wasn’t really kind about The Elite early on and was mad at The Bucks, Kenny and Cody for teasing him being involved with All In and AEW. He pretty much called them amateurs for the way they tried to negotiate with him over text.
