Shamrock, Get the tables!
Steiner Brothers or LOD.
Iād say Steiners though. Dominant.
Close 2nd.
Can anyone name a better year than 2000 for the tag team division with Hardy Boyz, Edge & Christian and Dudleyās all going at it with the TLCs and all sorts?
I canāt.
Amazing stuff
Hardy boyz were my faves. I remember getting bored of the Dudley boyz act.
Hogan was an awful wrestler, how is he making top 10 and top 15 lists?
What he should come top of are such lists as:-
-
least popular wrestler in the locker room across multiple eras
-
greatest achievement relative to actual talent level
Iād add in the likes of Owen hart, 123 kid, Texas tornado. All excellent technical rasslers in their own right that werenāt pushed enough, or too late in Owenās case.
Jericho and Kurt Angle the best Iāve seen in the years since I stopped watching it
- Stone Cold
- Hulk Hogan
- Andre The Giant
- Ric Flair
- The Rock
- Jericho
- Triple H
- Lesnar
- Taker
- Sting
- HBK
- AJ Styles
- Okada
- Tanahashi
- Kane

I think SRJCC was probably alluding to influence more so than best wrestler. A combination of technical wrestling ability, mic skills and draw. Thatās why Terry Bollea is high up in a lot of lists.
I think being the greatest wrestler stretches way further than just in ring ability. His influence, ability to work a crowd, mic skills, heel run (the greatest heel turn and subsequent run ever), and all round importance to wrestling means he has a firm spot on the Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling.
So yeah pretty much what DH said above.
Canāt believe I forgot about the likes of Owen Hart, Randy Orton and CM Punk
I canāt imagine a list where Randy Orton makes the top 15 haha. Same goes for Owen Hart - great wrestler with amazing in ring abilities but didnāt have the overall package and always (rightly) wrestled in the shadow of his brother.
I meant your original list making bro lol, seeing as you started this topic of discussion
Heās one of the few wrestlers who have had a 5-star match in the WWE, thoughā¦
Iād say that along with the likes of Wade Barrett, Ahmed Johnson and Scott Steiner, Owen is one of a number of wrestlers who Vinnie should have put the belt on when the timing was absolutely spot on for them (for Owen it was late 97- even if he dropped it at the next PPV, it would have been fine)
Nah I was just quoting how you spelt my username haha.
Owen was an insane in ring competitor. I definitely wonāt argue with that.
Anybody who has the chance, give:
Steiner Brothers vs. Hart Foundation a watch. It was an old WWF tag match from the early to mid 90s (ā94 I think).
Some of the in ring action between Scott and Owen/Bret was as pure as it gets. Ground wrestling, stiff hits, suplexes⦠the whole works. Let me try and find a link.
Edit:
I love these sorts of matches.
The closest weāve ever had to such grappling matches since was Benoit v Angle
Superlatives being thrown about like confetti around here!
Iāll grant you Hogan had a huge influence on the direction of sport entertainment both in its initial growth era in the 80s and then picking it up off the floor in the mid-90s.
I just donāt see much to get excited about the guy, Iām sorry. Looking back now, his mic work is pathetic in comparison with both contemporaries like Jake āThe Snakeā Roberts (another excellent rassler) and Ric Flair of course, as well people like The Rock nowadays whoāve taken it to the next level. Was Hogan funny? Witty? Or did he just tear his top and cup his hand to his ear after giving someone the big boot? Fans back then weāre just easily pleased I guess
Hogan was awful in the ring as mentioned, involved in some of the great matchups of the sport but often (imo) carried through them by others (eg by Undertaker at VII and that debacle at VIII with the Yokozuna match)
Heās widely disliked by his peers, some of that ofc is likely down to sheer envy but feel free to check out what other ppl in the locker room of the 80s / 90s though about this guy and his treatment of others. Michaels couldnāt stand him. Hart couldnāt stand him. At least those two had a working respect for each other, it was just personality clash. When it came to Hogan, they just both thought he sucked
I find it hard to disagree when you put it like that, Robster.
However, for every Macho Man carrying him at WMV or Yokozuna at WMIX, italian Terry also did his bit in making a match out of Ultimate Warrior in WMVI and Andre in WMIII
Who remembers the Nasty Boys? god they were nasty werenāt they
I need to find someone to talk MY era of rasslinā: late 80s, through the supposed dark days of the early-mid 90s and stretching to the late 90s, whereupon I got too self conscious about my childhood love for boxing/WWF and felt the need to get involved in some more girly pursuits
Legion of Doom
