Worst Arsenal Moment of the Decade

Hiring someone so dull like emery and continuing with him after the shocking end to last season has made me fall out of love with the club a little bit, something I’ve never experienced before. Currently struggle to find anything likeable about us at all.

We are at a period where results are so important, loads of big players on big wages, high transfer fees, we cannot afford to maintain these signings and players and be in the Europa league. I do think bad season this season could cement us as the new Everton, and Emery has fucked us.

Regardless what people say, I would argue forever against it, Wenger left with a very good squad in tact for the next manager.

Leno bellerin holding sokratis monreal lucas ramsey ozil iwobi laca and auba is a very good first 11. And we got beaten to top 4 by utter out of form dross.

The thrashing by Man U, then selling our best player to them for them to win the PL title.

But without doubt, the worst moment just over a decade ago was Kroenke becoming our owner.
Nothing beats that.

Wenger getting abuse at the train station in Stoke was a very low moment.

If I’m being honest the entire decade has been horrible. Makes me feel like such mug when I think back to how naive I was when in the previous decade we were told we would be competing with the Bayern Munich’s and Barcelona’s of the world only to see us fighting wolves, Burnley and Sheffield Utd for top 6!:joy:

Only 2 decent transfer windows out of the 10, then all the shite players that were brought in to compliment the rest of the shite in the squad. All the baffling things like for the longest time not being able to pay high player wages because we had some type of socialist structure were all the players were being paid “fairly”.

Then the domestic humiliation at the hands of Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea to only be topped be continental humiliation at the hands of Bayern.

I don’t even want to go into the amount of money spent to see this shit show as I’m sure others here are in the same boat!

I’ll be happy when 2019 is over and 2020 arrives. I say good riddance to this decade.

I’ve gone with 4-4 at Newcastle, at that stage we were a legit title hope with no one being that dominant and a favourable run home on paper.

I vote selling van Persie to Manchester United for football reasons and gifting them the title.

Symbolic of far more than any single football match result or individual error out on a pitch etc. This was a damning indictment of the weakness of the club and how the ‘chickens were coming home to roost’ after systemic failure within the club starting nearly a decade prior

The 5-1 at Anfield when we were still in the title race was pretty painful.

8 2 the end of Arsenal being anything substantial in the Prem and Wenger as well.
Passing on Klopp was another major disaster.

Is there a best moment of the decade thread or just negativity?

Feel free to create said thread.

I look at this more as a cleansing session. :innocent:

God there’s been so many moments lol

Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, City and United don’t even come close to having as many comically embarrassing moments fml

We have been such a joke of a club this decade. Absolute shambles.

Just negativity please. If Freddie goes on a five game win streak then we might allow it.

Besides FA cup win to break the drought is the only possible winner there.

Stomping everyone in the FA cup for 2+ years was pretty fun, and a record. Beating united, city chelsea, and lolpool in more meaningful games than just the bought and paid for league, was awesome tbh.

WENGER SACKED: 45%
EMERY SACKED: 55%

Wenger being sacked is the worst moment of the decade tbh, that’s when the club lost their identity.

Our best moment was undoubtedly the 2014 cup final breaking the drought, 2017 was a bigger achievement beating Chelsea in the Final and City in the SF, but I wasn’t singing “ ohhh Santi Cazorla” outside the pub for an hour after the final whistle for that one.

And then 2nd worst moment of the decade was letting Sven go. Just when the club found the right mixture of top class manager that can get the team playing sexy football, to pair with elite level talent spotter, they go and blow it all up because of power hungry egomaniacs.
