William Saliba (2)

Nothing prevents English teams accepting those bids, that wasn’t my point.

My point is that they can’t force English teams to sell when they don’t want to in the way they used to. Unlike everywhere else, top English teams actually can say no to £100 million. And in Saliba’s case, Arsenal probably would.

Hopefully I haven’t jinxed him but seems to have stepped up since Gabriel’s absence. Taking more authority leading the backline and is getting more involved going forward.

With all due respect to English players specifically Arsenal players like Saliba and Saka but they are no way where as good as Ronaldo or Bale that Real Madrid will break the bank for them.

They broke the bank for Bellingham. Why wouldn’t they fit Saka except that they do not particularly need a right winger?

Saka is better than bale was when Madrid signed him.

Come at me.

Hmmm, that’s an interesting debate. Very conflicted to pick one.

I mean is it really that conflicting?

One played for the scum the other is our boy. Bale in the season he left had 25 G/A in the PL, saka done that the last two seasons and would’ve destroyed it this year if not for the injury (16 in 19).

Not even close, Bales best stuff came at Madrid too.

Depends how much you rate Bale. I think Bale’s the closest thing to CR7 I’ve seen in the PL.

Saka is not close to Bale before he went to Madrid.

Bale in that last season at Spurs was insane and showed flashes like he could possibly become the third best player in the world after Messi and CR7. I don’t think Saka has ever shown that kind of level.

But Saka has been the better player overall during their time in the PL. Saka’s last three seasons have all been better than Bale’s second best season at Spurs.

The Bale that was shredding teams in the Premier League and the Champions League was a monster. Best winger in the league - Salah and Hazard conversation, not Saka.

I think Saka is great by the way.

If I recall Bale last season at Spurs was bonkers, it was almost as if every long shot would find the back of the net.

It was a ridiculous peak. Spurs would’ve finished 10th/9th instead of 5th without him.

Yeah exactly he was just a long shot king that season. Just like for wales he stood out more cos his team were shite.

Saka’s matched Bale’s numbers from his best PL season twice already, Bale was 23/24 when he did it and Bukayo first hit 25 G/A at 21.

No contest, starboy is clear.

They were a one man team that season getting ‘baled’ out every time.

I don’t know what it is about spurs. They’re perennial losers but will have a generational talent every 5-10 years.

Van der Vaart to an extent, Moderic, Bale, Walker, Kane.

Yups I agree, but I also think most ‘top 8’ clubs, produce world class players every once in a while.

Apart from Chelsea lol, I don’t actually recall who was the last WC player that came from their academy.

Declan Rice :face_with_tongue:
