There’s plenty to “rebutt”, just not worthy. When someone speaks of documentation and backs that up by saying: “it’s been written about by some sports journalists” then it really isn’t worth it someone else’s time.
Childish? Please. It’s been written by journalists in very reputable publications such as Kicker and also supported by Bayern president Uli Hoeness that states multiple players were against him which is mostly due to his methods.
So what do you know about his methods exactly? Other than that Bayern FC players and president didn’t like them? Or at least that you read that somewhere…
I don’t know what it is, but I like reading about football manager’s journeys, especially when I’ve never heard of them. Bela Guttmann has a brilliant life/football story… I’d never heard of him until someone mentioned him on here, I think it may have been @Joshua ?
He basically got handed Monaco to him AFTER the investor left and he was forced to use young cheap players. the 2015 chl exit against his Monaco side suggest his focus on defensive organisation too which we all now is essential with this Arsenal team.
After having read that piece it seems like he implemented succesfully at Shaktar what Wenger has been trying to do for nine years. Although it helps a lot that they are at the absolute top of the Ukrainian football food chain.
There may well be some validity to the criticisms of Ancelotti’s methods at Bayern but his success is because his methods have been largely successful everywhere he’s gone.
Just to reiterate I don’t want Ancelotti as I genuinely believe there are better candidates out there I’m just not supportive of the over the top criticism of his methods based on one spell at Bayern where he just clearly didn’t win the players over. It happens to ever manager.
