Saw David Byrne has a few dates in Britain next year, so instantly dropped 300 quid on tickets for me and my dad to see him for one of his two London dates.
Seeing as I’ll never realise my ultimate dream of seeing Talking Heads, this is by far the next best thing, and I wasn’t risking missing out.
Been hoping for years he’d do some gigs outside the US.
So excited.
Not right now but a few minutes ago…
I was just putting the recycling bags out when a young topless bloke drove past in a Mercedes convertible. Music was blaring-out but I hadn’t worked out what he was playing, we exchanged glances but his expression was not of the usual smug twat variety, it was somewhere between shame and apology.
Once the car had passed and he’d stop revving the engine, I could finally make out the track playing was “Night Fever” by The Bee Gees.
Bless.
That’s a great track!
Yes, but it didn’t fit the look. This is Essex, it’s usually whatever dance music was popular two years ago.
God, got nightmares from this
What a place to do a set
Nice, as long as the weather holds. Upper altitude mountain locations are notorious for a reason, just as well they’re a rarity for gigs. For a keyboard guy the biggest bugbear playing outdoor venues is light relection off control surfaces. Touch screens are a nightmare. Shields, you might say? Nope, when you’re moving around your view angle is changing all the time, you have to make precise moves with every finger in split seconds. Not ideal. Gone on a bit here, but just bringing a bit of realism, I guess. Thanks for your indulgence :).
