West Brom Vs Arsenal (PL)

Fat Sam in the job two weeks gets beat 5-0 than immediately wants a circuit break. His motives are clear.

Lard arse walrus just trying to stem the bleeding knowing a confidence zapped WBA canā€™t afford to drop more more points in this condensed festive period.

If the prick was that concerned about the virus he wouldnā€™t have taken the job on and heā€™d be sitting with a mask over his face in his mansion hiding under his doona.

Hate to say it but heā€™s probably right.

Donā€™t see why thereā€™s any need to stop. Continue testing and get the matches played. The system is working.

18 positives over a whole league players and staff really is fuck all, given the testing is so frequent they arenā€™t exposed to others for any significant period either.

Might just need to stop allowing fans into games in tier 2 areas in that case. Where one fan, who might asymptomatic but positive, might infect others around him, including a player, it could spread like wildfire.

Combine this with the impending FA Cup third round where teams from different divisions will mix only to go and play in the league midweek, we could be looking at astonishingly high numbers in the football pyramid by mid January.

Yeah and lower League football in general with no testing has too be a major concern now.
Ive never agreed with the European competition going ahead from the start either.

I really donā€™t think football fans being allowed into about 8 grounds in the country is to blame for the spread of Coronavirus.

I canā€™t speak for all grounds, but Colchester were ridiculously thorough on their COVID protocols.

Fans watching football in the very few areas that are still tier 2 is a small problem in the grand scheme of things. Unless you want to put a plug in every kind of human movement that is not absolutely essential, which to be honest it sounds like some people on here would be up for.

Agreed. Tried going a non League game Boxing day and next few weeks there all ticketed even level 5.
Think the players themselves and the nature of the sport is the bigger threat if the rate keeps increasing.

Maybe UEFA might come to their senses and stop having meaningless friendlies and international matches, where players travel all over the world and then bring back the virus to their team mates in this country.

European matches would come under that too.

FIFA control the international calendar. Qualifying tournaments are set by organisations like UEFA and individual FAs set their own friendly matches.

Not to disagree with the point, just think blame should be properly appointed

There are hardly any friendlies any more.

But it all comes down to the same thing. Money. international FAs have been impacted financially by COVID as well and they have broadcast and commercial commitments to honour.

Feel like the news of Gabriel is a bit representative of footballers. Just partying and no social distancing etc.

Do hope Willian and Luiz donā€™t walk back into the starting lineup

Fuck itā€™s dangerous Willian might be starting, especially due to games being so close together Arteta may want to rotate.

Arteta has to rotate and fully expect both involved.
We might just have turned a corner here hopefully.
Should win and see a 3 1 victory continuing the good form.
