Viktor Gyökeres

Utd making their move…feels like the player always wanted a reunion with Ruben Amorim.

:eyes: @Darkseid

Would say its more like they’re the only big club that may be seriously in for him for whatever reason and so of course he’ll.go if they’re the practically the only viable option

He will be a hit in the PL if so, I have very little doubt

IMO, the player either only wants Utd, or it says that no one else is in for him, which raises significant questions about the player.

We’re pretty much the only team in for Sesko…

Yes, and possibly because we’ve done the ground work for the player and he only wants Arsenal…

Although reports have linked, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Saudi with him as well.

We’ve got a free run at him and we’re seemingly not fighting off any other club

So applying the same logic is there questions around Sesko?

I don’t agree we have a free run at him for the aforementioned reasons.

Although would accept we appear to have the most concrete interest.

Some serious mental gymnastics going on here. You’re concerned about Gyokeres not having any interest in him when he’s been linked with United, Arsenal, Juventus and Saudi Arabia and in the same breath defending the lack of interest in Sesko as probably being because we’ve done all the groundwork and he only wants Arsenal?

Rio’s a moron but I find it interesting that he doesn’t rate Gyokeres all that much from his CL performances.
Lescott also in agreement.

I wouldn’t trust Rio’s judgement on anything.

I trust Lescott’s judgement. I do wonder if Lescott is the one that pointed to Rio his flaws because he did mention they watched him together.

Rio knows…been around some excellent strikers while at Utd. Saying that Gyokeres can’t cut it in the PL is a big statement.

Stop it. Rio doesn’t know shit and has watched the same amount of Gyorkeyes as i have

Lol stop it, if Rio said this about Sesko your position would be a complete 180. Come on.

Defenders are good judges when it comes to strikers.

But he hasn’t and we’ll cross that bridge if we get to that!

I haven’t really seen any other clubs express any concrete interest in him, but let’s remember the context about Gyokeres, and why you and @Darkseid and others want him at Arsenal - he is meant to be a player ready to step into our attack and deliver significant numbers of goals. I maintain my doubts about his ability to do that. Sesko on the other hand is a raw talent, but who IMO has all the traits to become a great striker. So we’re not comparing apples and apples here, and given so many teams out there need an established striker, I reiterate my point - why aren’t more teams in for Gyokeres if he’s that good? Why did Chelsea opt for Delap over Gyokeres? Why aren’t other big European teams all over Gyokeres?

I don’t care who we sign. I have the same reservations about Gyokeres quality but I also accept he’s probably the closer to finished article and more likely to produce immediately than Sesko.

We’re half a decade into the Arteta project now we’d all like to see us lift a major trophy again. I’m ok with Sesko, I’m ok with Gyokeres. Neither of them are particularly stellar players at this stage but that’s an indictment on the current state of the striker market.

And I could ask you the same questions - nobody is bidding for Sesko. Why not? Because he’s overpriced and is coming off a 13 goal season in Germany.

Neither of them are hot commodities for different reasons.

Ok sorry, I thought you were #Team Gyokeres. And I do agree with you about the striker market. When it comes to Sesko, there appears to be more interest in the player from other clubs based on the rumours.

That they have played against or watched regularly perhaps. Neither apply here.
