Viktor Gyökeres

Only real success is Bruno Fernandes isn’t it?

Interesting because Ornstein previously said in January that Gyokeres wasn’t on Arsenal’s list at all and Arsenal wasn’t on Gyokeres list. I have faith in the club whoever we end up buying but still have a reservation with Gyokeres as to why no other big clubs made a move for him in the summer or in January. Can he cut it in the Premier League?

Very smart signing if we are genuinely interested and this isn’t ITK bollocks. Does seem like the type of forward that Atletico would sign.

Would have thought that Liverpool and Chelsea would be in for him.

I thought Ronaldo but he’s not very recent.

Both from Lisbon tho so makes it even more likely he wins us the treble next season

Why does that matter?

Is that the source of your confidence in Zubimendi because he’s been targeted by other clubs?

Who cares what others think or do

Because the striker market is so poor at the moment. Lots of teams need a top quality striker but no one has made a move for Gyokeres. Just makes me nervous that the feeling is he can do it in Portugal but not in a top league like the PL. He also didn’t look great when we played Sporting earlier in the season.

Zubimendi is quality. Plays in a good league and for the Spanish national team. Plus other top teams have been in for him.

I doubt we’d get a free run at Gyokeres this summer. I think the wider issue is that most teams cannot afford to pay a release fee during a Transfer window.

Albeit the Championship, the fact that Gyokeres has played in England before makes me less worried about him.

Please

Actually every big team bought strikers the one or two seasons before his breakout season (Vlahovic, Lewandowski, Nunez, Ramos, Kane). Throwing another €70-80 million on a striker, who also happens to be a very late bloomer and until this season a one-season wonder didn’t make sense for them.

That however shouldn’t be a reason for us not to sign him if Arsenal has done the proper due diligance.

Cunha and Gyokeres the first two signings for big Berto. We’re back.

That or Ornstein is talking shit.

This would be our best signing and should have been done last season when it was obvious that we needed a striker and also means that clubs also after a striker, like Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle, if Isaak leaves, will push the price up.

Buying Havertz and Trossard, when we could have got a proper striker like Gyokeres, has probably cost us the title, as well as wasting more than 100m, so just get it done.

Gyokeres maybe, but I’m not a fan of Cunha. Don’t see where he plays in our system or how he improves our team.

Think he’s everything that Havertz wishes he was as an 8 or as a CF.

A front four of Gyokeres, Saka, Cunha and New left winger with Nwaneri, Martinelli and one legged Jesus in reserve - nobodies defence is safe.

Interesting. I can’t be mad at this.

Considering the circumstances of the Trossard signing and what hes produced since he got here it’s just nonsense to suggest that signing has cost us anything.

€70m sounds a lot better than €150m for Isak.
