Viktor Gyökeres

Exactly lol.

The third goal isn’t even terrible defending, it’s Gyokeres muscling his way through.

The first one has a host of shit defending before it but the bit that matters from Gyokeres is being in the 6 yard box when the ball comes in. His part has nothing to do with the defending. Arsenal do plenty of cutbacks and low balls across the box or Martinelli fucks them up and hits the defender. A good LW will find Gyok.

4th one I forgot now cba to go watch it again but was similar from him being there in the middle for the tapper iirc.

Like I said Holstein Kiel (2.4GA pg) defend even worse over the season than Boavista (1.7GA pg) but Sesko got 2 goals in 2 games vs them, Gyok got 4 in 1 vs Boavista.

I like both Gyokeres and Sesko. However, it would seem very safe to say that Gyokeres is much better in front of goal.

There isn’t a great list of wingers or 10’s either.

Which is why I can’t believe you think one of them is more important than a proven goalscorer. Which is what Big Vic is. Sesko is another footballer hipster twitter hype job

He could score a hat trick every game and some would say it’s because he’s playing in an inferior league or his goals are against poor defending but that criticism doesn’t seem to apply to Sesko.

If you look at his goals, Gyokeres isn’t a tap in merchant, he’s a dynamic striker who often makes goals out of nothing and gets plenty of assists as well.

Also, he’s a lot cheaper than Isaak which means we can afford a top quality LW as well and not as injury prone but the only problem we have is that every other club that needs a striker will be after him too.

Funny how people who often rightfully dismiss stats as indicative of a player’s ability are using stats to dismiss Gyokeres.
Dude is a certified striker and will only improve

There’s a better list of wingers out there compared to strikers.

And while we obviously need both, surprisingly there is a good chunk of people here(we did a poll not too long ago) who would prioritise winger over a striker.

Not sure about 10s. Personally, I wouldn’t prioritise it unless it’s someone who has the capacity to play out wide.

Two bad misses, but the second goal was really awesome. Reminded me of a prime CR7 cutinside.

He might flop, but I also think he might reach another level in a top league, in an elite club.

As said, he’s the best bet you can make atm (*Isak aside).

I concur

I think he is not perfect but he find the net. He scores goals.

He will likely do the same here. No matter what.

Harland came from Bundesliga. I don’t have concerns about the league.

I still want Isak but if we can’t get him then

Tldr: yes and no?

Yes

Tl;dr: those guys massacred Gyokeres.

They think Sesko would be a better fit than Gyokeres.

This video is very poor, its been posted before and honestly they barely know what they’re talking about if at all.

It’s like they’ve typecast Gyökeres because of what he looks like, comparing him to Haaland or at least how Haaland functions for City is just flat out incorrect.

Gyökeres is an all round striker and I wouldn’t say the same for Sesko who not only doesn’t play up top alone for his club, his passing and facilitation is currently underwhelming especially for what we’d require. Then there’s the fact he hasn’t dominated the Bundesliga which is bare minimum for someone who is straight away ready to take on the mantle here.

You’ve even got one of them claiming Gyökeres and Havertz would score same amount of goals in 38 games which is hilarious, just really crappy so called analysis

Sesko is a project striker, IMO he isn’t ready for the stage we’re currently at and I’m not even convinced he’d bench Havertz upon his arrival.

I must be a nerd

I feel like I’ve already read everything I’ll ever need to read about Gyokeres vs Sesko and am already well past the point of boredom.

I agree, if a striker can’t bench a limited player like Havertz then he simply isn’t good enough for a title challenging side.

Gyokeres is everything Havertz isn’t, dynamic and a good finisher which is what we have been lacking against stubborn defences.

Gyokeres has 6 non penalty goals against the top 10 in the portugese league. All his goals are pens or vs literal league 1 quality sides. No goals against
