Interesting discussion about Gyokeres and comparison to Sesko too…while I am not adverse to Gyokeres, my gut feeling remains that he isn’t the right fit for us and Sesko would be the better option in the summer.

Gykores would be great, Sesko would also be good and Isaak brilliant but too expensive.
Whoever it is, get it done at the start of the window.
I think all three have positives and negatives. It isn’t a clear cut choice, but agree with you that we need to have our strategy sorted and then get the deal done, whoever it is, at the start of the window.
Personally, if Newcastle don’t make the CL, I think we should go all in for Isak. If he isn’t available, Sesko is the one we should get IMO, but then I want a marquee winger or No.10.

I agree, a top quality goal scorer and LW is what we’ve lacked and it shows.
So with Gyokeres or Sesko, it means we should be able to afford to an equivalent LW as well but if we sign Isaak it might mean we spend the bulk of our budget on him.

They’re doing a disservice to Gyokeres who not only is a lot more technically proficient than they’re giving him credit for (much better than Havertz for damn sure) but also a much more well rounded striker than someone like Haaland, the fact they’re comparing him to Haaland says a lot about their poor analysis. It’s as if they’re just looking at what he looks like.
One of them said in the video that Gyokeres would score the same amount of goals as Havertz in 38 games which is an utter joke.
If you can’t get the best out of a striker like Gyokeres then the system is poor which of course is the case here. Arteta needs to improve regardless of who we bring in.
Isak in this team would still have the same struggles as the whole team when it comes to low block etc, not only that but for Newcastle he plays a similar way to Sporting where a good deal is done on the counter
Sesko is not a more rounded player than Gyökeres at all, very poor video IMO. They really need to do better

Sesko is a good talent but I don’t think he’s an elite one that will come and be one of the best strikers in the PL right away at his age which is what we need
We don’t need a project that may need a few years, we need the finished article
He isn’t so well rounded either, Gyökeres is clear in that regard IMO

I think Sesko looks like a more rounded player. Gyokeres has question marks for me in terms of how he fits into our system and while he has scored a lot of goals (43 this season), a high number have been pens (18 this season). I’m not dismissing that, but when you take that into account, plus the difference between the leagues, he may not be as prolific as people are saying. He also doesn’t look strong at headers (0 goals from headers this season).
I’m not totally adverse to Gyokeres, but I’m not sure out of the options available on the market, that he is the one that takes us to the next level. Sesko may be less experienced, but I think he has all the qualities we are looking for in a striker.
EDIT:
I do agree with you here, but if we signed Sesko, I would then expect us to be signing an elite No.10 to make up for this. Both their (Gyokeres’s and Sesko’s) price tags should mean we can invest in other attacking options as well in the summer.

How much have you actually watched Gyokeres ? Lets start there lol because it genuinely doesn’t sound like you have much if at all apart from perhaps his match against us
Sesko is not as creative as Gyokeres that’s for sure, doesn’t dribble as much etc Sesko isn’t really a refined player tbh
Gyokeres doesn’t look strong at headers? Even if true honestly it’s not a factor to me, I care what he does with his feet which is vastly superior to the likes of Havertz, are we trying to get Giroud mk2 or an actual class striker here? Havertz has scored one header in the PL this season.
Why doesn’'t Sesko have similar question marks over how he fits the system? Or even Isak?
Isak plays in a counter attacking team and scores a lot of goals on quick transition you know?

I’ve watched both. Gyokeres against us in the CL, but I have also watched highlights from SL matches and highlight reals. Same for Sesko. Not saying I am an expert on either player at all, it is just my gut feeling from watching the two players and comparing their strengths and weaknesses. Wbu?
With Sesko, I like the fact he is good with headers and I can see how he would be very dangerous in the box with how we now deliver set pieces. He also shoots from outside the box, receives the ball from deep, and can make good runs. For a tall player, he also seems to be very skilful.
Personally, I can just see how Sesko fits into our current system and think he alternates well with Havertz. Isak would give us a different option, but again I could see how we adapt to fit him into the system.
With all due respect to Havertz he isn’t good enough.
He’s a great backup to a number 1 like big Vic

We should not be such a set piece reliant team in the first place
We need not only a techinal player but also a killer in the position, Gyokeres is that to a tee
Also alternating with Havertz isn’t what is needed either we need a total replacement and if I had my way he’d get sold because he just isn’t worth extending for £300k a week considering what he offers. Never seen someone get bigged up for predomionantly offering work rate at a top club.
