This is the dream I keep trying to will into existence.
It just isn’t our style to be so obvious and play people against each other. I just cant see us having such strong interest in sesko for such a long time (apparently been in contact for over a year) and he seemingly wants to come. Then get in contact with Gyokeres get interest going and he seemingly wants to come and the be like ‘oh sorry sesko i know we have talked this up for over a season but too slow you can sod off now.’

Yeah exactly, if Sesko was the guy all along then why even entertain Gyokeres for this long?
Assuming there’s any truth to the Gyok/Arsenal stories at all..it could just be smokescreens from the agent.
I look at the Zubi deal and think, we only wanted him in that role and got him. Just like the Raya one too if I’m not mistaken.
But I can’t see us getting all 3 of Sesko, Gyok and Rodrygo…

I dont agree we have never gone after players of the same position and dump someone. If there is no progression and it cant be done we move on, we dont do the pitting signings against each other crap.
This might be because Rodrygo is difficult and may not wanna come. Sesko and Gyokeres can play together Sesko can easily come in off the left and is quite powerful and tricky and Gyokeres through the middle. If we do get a left winger then we have strong tall strikers one that can double up as a winger and then we are also stacked on the wings.
You have Rodrygo who might be a difficult capture and Williams is going to barca so maybe the thinking is…LW difficult can get a decent one but not amazing so utilise this sort of system.

there was no solid links to us and maddison or buendia there was a lot of FANS that wanted them but not much but a little chatter about us looking at them.

To me though we arent as classless to be talking to Sesko for so long (if reports are to be believed) and then crap on him and be like ‘yeah well we are going to move to Gyokeres’ you dont talk to a player for so long and then just dump them that is serious interest.
