So far the highest placed team Gunman Gyok has scored against in 13 games is 16th Leeds. They’ve improved since we played them so Gyok is getting more credit than he deserves.
You don’t understand why it’s massively problematic our £55m striker who’s meant to be the missing piece to the title is no use in 70% of games?
A run of scoring against top half teams, preferably with match winning goals (Villa, Chelsea, city, Liverpool) as examples already where he wasn’t capable.
Surely not too much ask of one of the self proclaimed best strikers in the world?
Gyokeres on his rank among the best strikers such as Kane, Lewandowski, and Haaland “I’m definitely one of them. It’s difficult to rank me, but yes, I’m at the same table as them now. What I managed to do at Sporting, I am convinced I can achieve anywhere. You haven’t seen the best of me yet.”
What is funny is people will be tagging me if he scores against Brugge or Wolves. I have never denied Gyok is excellent against low level opponents, after all that’s the reason he got here.
Well he’s not gonna say he’s not on their level after pumping out 90 odd goals over two years tbh. I’d say the same even if I knew the Prem was harder - I’d be trying to get the best contract possible with a new club and sponsors etc.
He’s an up and down start, came here lacking match sharpness and recently had an injury. I’d say judge in May.
The right questions are being asked. If nothing else let’s be thankful that we’ve had him here whilst Havertz has been out.
I’m going to need a lot more from him. Granted, we haven’t had a regular goal scorer since Auba left and our team aren’t really supplying Gyokeres with chances. I need to see him missing chances before I fully panic. That said, most of his performances have been between dog and average.
You can debate whether they’re brilliant strikers or finishers but Merino and Havertz get chances when playing. Darwin Nunez widely mocked for missing chances.
For me, I’m already panicking because he doesn’t get chances at all.
Gyokeres is being left alone largely by the media. He’s lucky that Isak and Sesko have stunk. Anyhow we drop from the top though, the daggers are going to be out for him.
