FA should investigate Chavs immediately if they dare to put another big bid like this.

No way we can afford that release clause this January. Only chance is if the Kroenkes’ stumps up the cash for this transfer. Can’t see that we would be able to raise the funds through player sales.

With FFP, i doubt anyone can make a lumpsum payment of 105m

I will not put it past Chelsea to pull another rabbit out of the hat like they did with Caicedo, Enzo and Mudryk and somehow sign Osimhen this window.

That’s clearly the guy they want for up front and he is open to a move there.
They’ve got three player from their academies in Chalobah, Gallagher and Broja who they can move on for decent fees and help them fund this move.

£100m is the new £60m

It’s +20m every couple years.

Pre 2010, 20m would have got you a baller, then in the early 2010s 40m was got you too quality, mid 2010s it 60m, late 2010s it was 80m and from 2020 onwards anyone that’s good they quote you 100m.

Surely the market’s going to crash at some point right? How are clubs, even the top ones able to afford these fees? Is it just through ammortisation?

How though? As long as you have nation states able to fund transfers I don’t really see the market crashing. It may plateau though.

I think the market at the minute is already fucked mate. Look how everyone is scrambling around trying to put together complex loan deals.

Compare it to last January.

Unless it was Wenger, who spent the club’s money like it was coming out of his personal bank account.
He’d pretend he was interested in a top quality player, offer half of what the asking price was then say they didn’t meet with his valuation and instead buy a cheap player that looked good in a farmers league.

Mourinho would do the opposite and pay more than the asking price.
In fact it was Chelsea who started the massive inflation of the price of footballers.

I’m not convinced by Osimhen either. He’s had one big season, but the rest of his career has been roughly 1 in 2.

Also his injury history is a massive concern. I wouldn’t dare spend Ā£100m+ on a guy with this record. Lot of muscle injuries in there.

20 goal a season striker you say? Bring him in! :stuck_out_tongue:

The caveat is he’s never played more than 40 games a season in his career so far.

And there’s not even a guarantee he translates into 1 in 2 striker here anyway.

We’ve seen Lukaku struggle to replicate his form at Chelsea and he’s been the better player in Serie A.

Serie a tax also

Didn’t do too bad at West Brom, Everton and even United

I can’t blame him for injuries to his head, shoulder, cheekbone. Coronavirus as well.
If you remove those injuries, it’s only this season which is a concern.

I have it on sound advice that he injured his knees and toes (knees and toes) as well.

Poor guy :disappointed:

Bubbly bubbly :notes:

His injuries worry me absolutely but as far as his form when he’s healthy not worried, very good all round game and would comfortably score more than anyone we currently have.
