Unai Emery

I still wouldn’t. Not unless we worked together for a long time and had struck up a friendship.

And then all they would get is a hug, and an invitation to stay in touch

At the bank I worked at I got leaving presents from both teams that I left as well as a card, which was really nice.

I was in both teams about 9 months haha Probably because the managers made so much money :joy:

We do but I wouldn’t go on linkedin and post a good bye message for them.
I have had bosses who were great to me and I would proactively go to them to thank them.

A personal thanks is always better imo.

So wgat type of club do people think his next job will be ?

Betis type or Sporting Lisbon in Portugal level.

Everton might take a serious look at him when they sack Silva otherwise he walks back into a decent job in Spain outside of the current “big 3”

Why are you comparing your job and the job of footballers and managers whose job is to entertain millions of human beings in a public sphere as if they are similar?

I never made any comparison

I fucking hated that patronising BS… Facts are facts he was fucking clueless at Arsenal and bought in some real fucking shithouses

The thing about the players making fun of him just shows that they didn’t respect him. Yes, it’s childish and I don’t condone it but if Emery couldn’t earn their respect after more than a year in charge, then he had no hope anyway.

Having read a few of the inside stories on what went on at the club during Emery’s stint, two things are obvious. Players didn’t understand him and didn’t respect him. We shouldn’t have either of these problem with Freddie, at least to start with. So maybe we can expect a very different Arsenal now.

TBH, not very different from opinions expressed here. A lot of us said the same things when we had that unbeaten run last season and when things went pear shaped towards the end of last season and of course this season.

I remember when I played Championship Manager back in the day there used to be an ‘adaptability stat’. While there are foundamental weaknesses with Emery as a manager it seems he does far better in his native country.

Ew, it feels dirty seeing you help promote a cunt Spurs fan trying to do numbers on twitter by mugging us off.

Please, can we see less of this kind of thing.

It’s not even like he’s making a good point. “look at these mugs, they were really happy to have a new manager and give him their full backing, but then when they saw he wasn’t good enough they wanted rid of him!”

Wanker even watermarked his shitty little video in the hope it’d do well.

They just fired their best ever manager (aside from Bill Nic in the sixties) and replaced him with a man that I guarantee every single one of them has spent basically the last fifteen years straight up loathing, let’s find evidence of this and now contrast it with what some of their fans are saying about him since he became their manager and won them a couple of games.

Fucking Spurs cunt. Absolutely loathe all of them and I think it’s all getting about twice as intense now that he is there. Don’t care how well he does there, thank fuck he isn’t our manager.

In case anyone is thinking I’m getting far too worked up about this, I’ll explain the chain of events this morning.

  1. Wake up
  2. get my phone out and do an early morning browse of OA to jolt myself out of sleep mode.
  3. get out of bed as to not disturb my girlfriend cos I want to watch this video
  4. start watching video while walking into the still dark living room
  5. tread in a pile of cat sick in my bare feet

So my strong feelings about the cat sick and my little shit of a cat might be leaking into this.

Yeah totally get that, just don’t want to miss an opportunity to slate AFTV. I didn’t realise it was a Spurs fan posting it and fully aware that it happens at every club.
Just fed up with the hyperbole that stems from them, couldn’t wait to get rid of Wenger and allowing Emery, and then couldn’t stop shouting for emery to be gone a year later

I also strongly dislike AFTV so I get it!

As I said, possibly got leaky feelings about the cat sick haha.

Off to the grinds my gears thread to vent more on that

This is my first time on here since Emery’s sacking.

The right decision was made for the club, Emery was out of his depth and the players clearly didn’t respect him, reports of him been slagged off by senior players if true is a disgrace and I think the players have got off easy on here and by the fanbase at large. For me the job was too big for him, he’s the type of manager that will do a job for a club not demanding success like we are. For me, the end season collapse had me questioning him but the Spurs and Watford games this season convinced me he wasn’t the man for the job.

Seems like a nice man, and wish him the best for his future.

I agree with you. Those players can fuck off too no matter how good they are.

There needs to be hierarchy and respect for the manager.

These guys been conditioned they can get away with putting in mediocre performances.

I come back from a stunning vacation in the tropics where I committed to not using my phone to this. It’s sustaining my life during the post-vacay hangover.

Wait a second…we bought a winger for 72m, Emery never played him and his plan was to buy another less talented winger in January?

When I worked at a newspaper and someone left, we’d do up a mock front page with the worst photo we could find and headline it ‘FUCK OFF’.
