Silva did a decent job at Hull and then landed the Watford gig and had a really strong start before the Everton rumour came along and he collapsed.
I totally get why he still had a decent rep after Watford but I don’t understand how he’s lasted so long at Everton.
But there’s also the argument that the recruitment has been haphazard. They still don’t have a good striker, the defence remains suspect and the midfield is hit and miss.
I think that’s harsh. We genuinely hoped and thought he would do well. He has an ok history.
Aftv are not morons. Well maybe 1 or 2 but defo not Robby he’s a legend.
Oh I absolutely agree. I think he’s trash, I just wanted to point out why he might still have had some level of credibility before the Everton hire and why some people might still give him a little pass.
The Watford issue should’ve been a major red flag though, it’s clear he gave up on them the moment a bigger club was interested.
I also believe I saw a stat that the three worst teams in Premier League history at defending set pieces are the three he’s managed, which is impressive really.
Guy annoys me in the podcasts as well. On twitter, some of his opinions where always a bit dodgy but somehow now has the legitimacy of an Athletic job. Fair play but it doesn’t mean i’ll take you seriously bro.
The sky Sports news said it was Stanley vetoing the dismissal when the rest of the leadership wanted to act sooner. You can always trust Stan to be there delaying progress in the face of the inevitable conclusion.
Not everyone is a pretentious fuck doing the tribute bit for public eyes, so some would have expressed their feelings on a platform Emery is most likely to check.
